Went there recently and asked for a low fade, ended up having the side of my head shaved with minimal blending the haircut being a little bit rubbish wasn’t an issue as I think it was a misunderstanding but the fact that they nearly tried to charge me £30 for it nearly made me throw up, would avoid if you’re a student.
Sabrina at Backstage might be the best barber in Edinburgh. She’s been cutting my hair for years and always leaves me looking sharp and feeling better about myself. Appointments are 45 minutes compared to 30 elsewhere, so she can take time with the scissors rather than just going in with the clippers. Top notch barber shop, top notch banter.Service: Hair shape up
Everything about this place is amazing : from the brand, to the quality of the haircut, to the whole experience in the shop itself. The owner personally deals with the haircuts and takes his time - he clearly cares about the haircut more than anything! And, there's free coffee too ; Would definitely be back again.

Best haircut experience in recent memory!! The shop was very clean and modern with comfortable chairs and great music. The online booking system was easy to use. But what really made the experience 5 stars, was Davie. He didn't assume anything about what I wanted, he asked the right questions, made some suggestions and then delivered! All while maintaining a great conversation. The other stylist working with him was very nice too, didn't get her name though. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
Best place in Edinburgh and Ive tried a few! Been goin to Backstage for a few years now and even after moving out of the area, its well worth the trip! a decent cut, decent chat, ridiculously fairly priced for the quality you get and an excelent welcome every time, and since geeting a hound, Ive discovered they're dug friendly too! The real barber experience and the real barber with experience. After 7 years of bad haircuts I found hair peace. I showed Davie a picture of the cut I wanted, he walked me through my options and cut my hair exactly as I wanted it. He has been a great chat for the whole time. I also really appreciated the care and precision he showed all the time. The quality-price ratio is incredible. When it comes to haircuts, is your head you show around, spend a few pounds more and let it handle to a professional like Davie and his crew. The difference is substantial.
