Thank you so much once again for all your help on our job this morning. I really was very impressed with MJC and will not hesitate to use you again or recommend you to our friends who need a good plumber who's value for money. It is always very hard to know who to trust when you search google for a good plumber, but I have nothing but praise for MJC and the manner in which I was dealt with on the telephone and by my plumber. The response to my initial query was quick and efficient, as well as friendly. I really appreciated being called in the morning too by the plumber, Matt, to be given a more accurate arrival time; the house in which the work was being carried out is little more than a shell with not even anywhere to sit and no working loo!, so hanging around there is not very pleasant! I travelled there from home so being able to time my arrival for more or less the same time as the plumber really made a big difference and was one of the things that impressed me most - I have had experience of several companies who say they will call and then don't so you're left waiting about for ages. Matt the plumber was brilliant. Very quick, friendly and efficient and left the place tidy. He explained exactly what he was doing and was honest about how long the job would take and kept to his word of two hours. He also left me clear instructions about how to deal with the capped pipes that were left and which were hot/cold feeds etc. making it as easy as it can be for when we come to reconnect the utilities. I also appreciated him not adding extra work to the job for the sake of it, which some plumbers often do to bump up their labour costs.
IveI just used MJC Plumbing for the replacement of a boiler. Everyone has been really friendly and professional: the admin staff, the person that gave the quote, the actual plumber. I can't judge the actual job since I'm not a qualified plumber, but the new boiler is working very well for now. If I have to find an issue it would be with the cleaning: there was quite a bit of dirt behind the old boiler left by previous owners and the plumber removed some of it, but it really needed a good scrub. Other than that I'm very happy.
MJC installed a combi boiler for me in 2015 and did a really good job at about half the price quoted by British Gas. Since then they've been back annually for a service, including today when all went smoothly - with the engineer calling ahead of time to check I was in and on arrival he was very polite and thorough. Happy to recommend.
Excellent plumbing service from Charlie. Within an hour identified the problem with pressure in my boiler and restored hot water. Explained how to prevent recurrence. Answered my questions on underfloor heating manifold. Unlike other independent contractors explained which parts i need to order instead of wasting my money whilst they're stuck in traffic trying to source those in the middle of the day.
Emailed in the early hours of the 24th about a leak and had a plumber round at 8am the same day, fixed within the hour. Customer service from Kat in the office was great. In addition I got automated emails and texts to confirm the job prior to the plumber's arrival - very helpful. Matt my plumber was friendly and very efficient. Really pleased, will use this company again for any repairs or work in the future.
Please save your time and look elsewhere. The engineer insisted that one of our issues did not need attention a broken stop valve, despite being clearly important. We insisted that it did, but were told it was simply not important as they would fix the broken tap which would resolve the issue. This meant that we were without running water for an extra 2 days since we had to shut off water for the whole flat instead of just the bathroom. After a second call-out, the tap was 'fixed', but broke again within hours. We're a busy household and didn't have time to deal with this immediately, so called up a few weeks later instead when we had the time and headspace to deal with it. When we did call up to have the issue sorted being within the '3 month warranty' period, the member of staff was incredibly rude and dismissive, blaming us for breaking the tap. We were told that there would be a call-out fee charged if they sent an engineer round and they decide the issue was our fault. This is absolutely not a risk we're willing to take. I cannot stress just how rude the staff on the phone were. Incredibly unprofessional interactions and poor service aside, if we were able to break the tap within a month of 'repair', then surely the repair was not adequate in the first place?
MJC Plumbing arranged for a plumber to come to my home very quickly. They arrived on time, where very quick and thorough. The bill was very reasonable indeed. The people I deal with very very friendly and helpful.PositiveResponsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Value
I had a shower tap that needed replacing and I called MJC after reading positive reviews about them online. However my experience was quite different. They sent someone to inspect the faulty tap and quote me. He stayed roughly 10 minutes, charged my £85 for the pleasure and promised to send me a quote the next day. No quote arrive the next day, so I called them. They promised to look into it and get back to me within the hour. No-one called me. I called 5 times in total and the same scenario repeated itself. Eventually they managed to produce a quote after 3 weeks of heavy nagging: £1500 to replace a tap! As I was desperate by that time, I reluctantly agreed. They sent a plumber the following week. He started the job, then left. A tiler was then sent two days later to replace some tile the plumber had broken. The plumber came back three days later to finish the job. So it took a whole week in total for the job to be completed, with the shower unusable in the meantime. Why they couldn’t arrange the plumber and the tiler to come on the same day or at least warn me that it would take a whole week is beyond me. I won’t be using them again.
Abysmal customer service, not great at showing up within the timeframe provided or at all and don’t know how to return a phone call. Clearly the head office is making promises and not passing those on to the actual plumbers. Would not recommend unless you want to spend 4 days arranging a simple visit.
MJC communicated clearly, were on time, and serviced our boiler in a professional manner. The engineer was friendly, and the office staff followed up to make sure we were happy with the service.
