Story

The inspiration for MinMin derived from a friend who was curious to know how to pronounce the word 'noodles' in chinese. We like the name so much that we decided to call our noodle bar MinMin.

Our love of noodles and frequent trips to Hong Kong meant that we were always finding new and exciting local cafes on every street corner that sells authentic, simple and tasty noodle soup.

This inspired us to open MinMin using noodles that are specially sourced and imported from Hong Kong, from a well known and popular manufacture that have over 50 years of experience producing noodles of a particularly high standard in quality and taste. Noodles are loved by everyone young and old; it is a simple dish that can be eaten everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Our food also has Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese influences which is food we love to eat during our travels and on this note we like to take you on these travel journeys and created a menu for you to discover and experience at MinMin.

Popped in for a quick lunch before visiting the superstore. Very impressed with the place. I would describe it more as a cafe style in layout and size. There is an outdoor overspill seating area for the late warm afternoons or even the evenings. The menu has a small but very popular selection of Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese dishes. I personally chose the Beef brisket Massaman Curry with fried rice. Absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend booking prior to attending. Due to its size and clearly its popularity it gets quite busy. Definitely book if you have a party of 4+. We booked at 1:45pm and within an hour it was almost full. Delicious food, delightful atmosphere and service. Recommend a visit if you’re in the area.
We enjoyed a dinner here tonight, our first time visiting and we will definitely come back. The price is good for portions size, the restaurant is comfortable to sit in, clean tables. Recommend the beef ho fun in particular! If you pay in cash you can get 10% discount off your bill.Food: 4/5
Often visited the restaurant and the food quality was good but recently it was turning worse than before. Ordered a beef ho fun and the rice noodle was not well stir-fried. Asked for a replacement but it turns out the same. One of the staff there was rude and reluctant to offer a replacement.
Ordered 3 roasted with fried rice noodle. It needs extra £1. But come with even less portion likes kids menu. And the 3 roasted items are also come with smaller portions. Checked with staff and just replied that’s the correct portion for fried noodle. And I can have extra noodle with £2 more. No wayFood: 3/5
Quick stop for lunch, really impressed by the service and food. This restaurant serves very authentic Chinese food with such a wide variety of dishes on their menu. We got the salt and pepper tofu to share and the tofu was well seasoned and crispy! We both had the lemongrass noodle soup, really fresh and clean tasting soup. Will be back again when in Birmingham :
Staff are friendly, are prompt to bring drinks on order of food, and additional drinks after meal. Menu has a good variety to suit most tastes. We chose individual noodle dishes, which were presented lovely, tasted great and fresh, and plenty to satisfy your appetite. We tried several years ago and visited every time when we are visiting the local supermarket.
We popped in here before a match at Villa Park and we’re really impressed with the food and service. The minmin curry is terrific as is the sweet and sour. Generous portions and all served with rice or noodles. Good value too. Just a shame it’s a 25 min walk to the game. Still at least we can walk some if it off!Food: 5/5
The food is decent, but it doesn't leave a lasting impression. The ramen broth lacks richness. On the other hand, the bubble tea stands out as the highlight with its consistently high quality and delicious taste. I have purchased it multiple times in the past. In general, the prices are reasonable. The server's attitude is commendable, but whenever I visit, the restaurant is always packed, resulting in long wait times for ordering and service. It seems they require additional staff during peak hours. Nevertheless, the bustling atmosphere is enjoyable as the restaurant is consistently busy and never empty.

This restaurant was fantastic, and the food was delicious, but the service was subpar. They screwed up my order; I requested seafood but received chicken. When I alerted them, they said they could modify it but that I would have to wait another 15 minutes. Of course, I didn't want to wait because my fiancé had received his order correctly and I wanted to eat with him. I didn't want him to wait until my order was ready because his food would be cold. Despite the fact that they messed my order, my dish was also cold. Furthermore, they did not apologize for their mistake, and they should have given some dessert or something else, or at the very least erased the incorrect order from the bill. Ignoring their error was a negligent act on their part. The food was decent overall, but the service could use some improvement.
