I never complain but then again I have not had the misfortune to visit the Chippenham branch of Millets before this morning. I needed some fishing gear and had looked on the website and assumed – fool that I am – that the local branch would stock the items I needed. Why the three entities behind the counter felt the need to laugh in my face on my entering the premises I could not divine. I work in a public facing role myself but on Day One of training in any customer services job you are usually told that treating the public like something that has just dropped out of a dog's bottom is a Very Bad Idea. Smirking Anal Cyst#1 did deign to answer my enquiry but in a tone of such condescension that it was only by a concerted effort of forbearance on my part that prevented my fetching him a series of glancing blows to his supercilious countenance. The whole experience has left me very hacked off indeed. Thankfully, I have Amazon Prime so the gear I need will be delivered tomorrow but it's now no wonder to me that high street retailers are turning belly up ever increasing numbers. I implore those of sound mind to stay away from Millets in Chippenham at all costs – unless you are a masochist and enjoy being treated like faecal matter. I only hope the three un-assistants I encountered today aren't laughed at by the JobCentre Plus staff when they come to claim Universal Credit in the very near future. (NB I have awarded one star - but only because Google won't allow me to specify no stars at all)
