There is a large main pool and a decent size baby/toddler pool. The pool was a bit chilly on 20th November 2022, but after swimming for a few minutes it was okay. They have plenty of lifeguards. The changing area is okay. The showers all worked and were hot. There is a large, free car park. The reception staff are friendly. They have a gym, but I haven't used/seen it. I wish they would promote healthy food on their vending machine in the vending area, as my children get drawn to it! I've been visiting since the 90's!
Surprisingly well heated still, in view of austerity, but the steps in and out of the pool aren't very well designed; too widely spaced and very difficult unless you are pretty fit. Saving grace is the pool pod which can lift you in and out of the pool. The way forward for me I think.
The pool and changing rooms really need modernising. The pool is very tired looking and the floors ate dirty from where people where shoes poolside. The changing rooms permanently smell of urine and trying to get into swimming here has been incredibly hard in the past. Nice to see they've updated the gym facilities but shame they can't show the pool and facilities the same amount of attention.
As a fierce pirate captain, I be no stranger to rough seas and scurvy dogs. But me recent visit to Middleton swimming pool be a true test of me mettle. I be pleased to find that the water be a perfect temperature - not too hot, not too cold. I spent a good while splashing about, enjoying meself like a true swashbuckler. The staff at Middleton be a friendly bunch, always ready to lend a hand - especially when ye struggle in the water. And the pool toys - arrr, they be a true delight! I had a grand old time playing with the inflatable dolphins and sea turtles. All in all, I'd give Middleton swimming pool a hearty recommendation to any pirate looking to cool off on land. It be a true paradise for us water-lovin' scallywags.
I work as a lifeguard here and I can honestly say that it is one of the best pools I've been to. The staff are lovely, the centre is clean and there are really handy arrangements for this got weather that we are getting, including a fully air-conditioned room that is free to use with a member of staff's permission, and a free water tap by poolside. I totally recommend to anyone !
Very friendly centre been very helpful in sorting my way through the various membership levels. Pool is good with its Lane division and everyone has made me feel welcome over the first few weeks. Going to add Gym work next.
Good parking area. A pool of 70cm deep suitable for small children. Hoping they have more floating foam for babies to learn swimming
The pool was fun. It's a shame there was no lifeguard to watch the little pool so we could take our toddler in there before we took her in the big pool, plus there are only three family changing rooms so we had to queue to use one after swimming.
My 2 year old son loves his swimming lessons here, very impressed with the facilities too
Friendly staff nice facilities went to my nephews swimming lessons they hold instructors were very polite and helpful
