We dropped in 'just to see what it's like". We were greeted nicely by a young man who turned out to be the waiter. There is a waiting desk as you arrive, but some people seem to walk straight past... That's because there's a cocktail bar at the back. Cocktails are not our thing, so pass on that one! Sat at a wooden table, with a very sticky surface, to be handed a wooden stand with the food and a drink menu. All four of these menus had been clearly wiped... With a mucky cloth. Could it be this bad on these first impressions? Looking around, there were clearly others enjoying themselves, a party of 12 having a birthday bash, another couple of tables, and others disappearing to the back or out a side door yes, they have an outdoor seating area that seemed busy. So we decided to order. Guidance by the nice young man with a head of very wobbly hair was brief, and despite saying we know nothing of Mexican food, was not very informative. However, we went for just the main course, quesadillas with different fillings. 1 pork, 1 Chicken with chilly and chocolate. They eventually turned up as the party was served just before us... Pork was tender but fatty, chicken was just bits of a bit of chicken in a brown sauce. I'm assuming it was chocolate as it was sweet, but the rest of the taste bland. Not a hint of chilly! When I asked the waiter about this, he explained that it was because the chocolate and chilly blend was designed that way. In conclusion...The only thing that resembles a real Mexican restaurant was the sticky tables and makeshift look. Nice cocktail bar loved the guy on the bar but again not our thing.
Great food good choices on menu and service!! don't be put off by the exterior ..pity the outside appearance doesn't reflect what's on the inside as the decor is beautifully done. . A hidden gem alright !! Parking: Good parking round the back .
Amazing mexican food in a cosy resteraunt. Friendly staff made us feel welcome. Cocktails tasted great. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely little place in the outskirts of Wickford,friendly staff, delicious food. If you don't like spicy food the are happy to turn down the heat.Food: 4/5

Staff...... attentive, friendly and made the whole evening enjoyable Food..... fresh. Clean. AMAZING Drinks, beer reasonably priced and cocktails out of this world. Was such a shame it was a Saturday night and not full up in there.. come on people, get booking... Mexican kitchen stands alone as a great restaurant ticking all the boxes. Overall, the meal was very average and service needs to be improved. A few points: - cocktails are amazing. Around £9.50 each and they really hit the spot. - the starter nachos were really good and a really good portion. - the quesadilla I got was so dry. While I appreciate it isn’t with sauce, the meat was over cooked and I didn’t eat it all. - service was so slow. There was a gap of 50 mins between starters and mains and also a number of times where we asked for drinks and they didn’t turn up as they forgot to put them through. It wasn’t a busy evening was a Tuesday.
Very good food. Hidden gem. Been there a few times and both times have been very good. Brilliant cocktails too. Would definitely recommend.
Popped in to get a take away, not knowing what to order. Staff were so polite, patient and explained everything with enthusiasm. Nice mocktail too! I'd recommend wholeheartedly.Food: 5/5
Wonderful little restaurant. The food is exceptional, the service is great and the cocktails are heavenly. Would recommend.
