I don't usually tend to go back to the same place twice when I'm visiting a city because I like trying new places. But Mesa was an exception. The menu here caters for all and both the food and the service is just brilliant! Also, you will not leave this place hungry, absolutely no chance. The pancakes my friend had looked next level and I had a French toast special on my second visit that I'll probably dream about until I return!
We sat in for a couple of coffees, pancakes, and a veggie breakfast bowl falafel, greens, hummus, pickle, and sourdough toast. Good food with generous portions, and the coffee is good quality. There's a takeaway window as well, and they do breakfast buns with a variety of fillings that we're planning to try next time-- good for a quick breakfast before setting out for a hike. Staff were very friendly and managed both tables and takeaway window without being too rushed to check in, which was very impressive. I also appreciated that despite the relatively small size, the tables are not too crowded in, so we didn't feel like we had to wolf down our food to make way for someone else. Good atmosphere, good food, great service-- will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options, including a veggie breakfast bowl with toast falafel, hummus, greens, pickle which was very good and filling. Daily special was essentially shakshouka, also veggie.
Go. Just go. The dishes are amazing. My group had lamb shakshuka, masala egg skillet, and one of the daily specials: french toast tahini moose, caramel apples, whipped cream and hazelnuts. The savory dishes were served with Sweet Jane's sourdough toast bakery across the road and everyone enjoyed beautiful cups of flat whites or americanos. The meal, atmosphere, and service could not have been more enjoyable or wondrous.
Best brunch I've ever had , definitely recommend. Veggie and vegan friendly and lovely staff. Phenomenal coffee. Reasonably priced
What a nice way to start your day! Beautiful cosy cafe on a popular road at the East Side of the city. Good coffee and they also have chai latte. One of the best brunch places at the city. It has nice food combinations of eggs and sandwiches using local products with an Asian cuisine influence.
The most amazing food as always I am not big fun of black pudding but omg they have the best black pudding so tasty...my fav spot excellent service very friendly staffFood: 5/5
What a divine brunch. I had lamb tagine, apricot and two eggs skillet and it was simply the best brunch I've ever had anywhere in the world! My friend had a vegeterian dish and that was divine too! The service was on pair with the food quality. Just excellent! I seriously consider going there for brunch every week now. If you haven't tried it, do it. You will be amazed!
Their food is plentiful, substantial and tasty. I ordered a sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the meat and its presentation.
Absolutely fantastic brunch spot in East Glasgow! Dog friendly, which is a big plus these days. The space isn't massive but they also haven't crammed everything in, so you don't feel claustrophobic. Lovely high ceilings, big windows, and they've kept some original decor from the tenement days. The service was fantastic and the staff was absolutely lovely. Attentive but not invasive in any way! The food itself was nothing short of phenomenal. My husband had a sweet potato and harissa soup to start with fresh sourdough - expertly done! He then had the pastrami sandwich and myself the Turkish shakshuka with gluten free bread. I opted for the fried potatoes too because I'm only lightly intolerant. The shakshuka was super tasty and a great portion. Personally I prefer my shakshuka a bit more saucy/pureed and less whole roasted veg but that's just a personal preference. I also asked for some garlic yogurt which just topped the lot off perfectly. The coffee was also really nice, I had an iced double espresso with oat milk and caramel. It shouldn't be difficult to get a nice iced coffee but I often find myself lacking. Not here though, perfectly balanced and you could tell the espresso was perfect as well. Overall we had a lovely little brunch, a good chat with our server, and some leftovers we're eating as we speak! Can't recommend enough and can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes!
Great spot on Duke Street for a delicious breakfast or brunch. And some great coffee and cake options too!
