The man at reception was quite rude. I got a text this morning to confirm my vaccine appointment for my surgery on Malvern Road but the text was signed off with Railway Street. I tried to call the surgery to confirm the location but after waiting for half an hour I had to disconnect. I walked to Railway Street only to be told my appointment is in Malvern Road. The nurse was really nice but I was annoyed from the way the man in shorts at reception spoke me I didn’t engage with the nurse
It's a shame that this practice is let down by a certain rude defensive receptionist that both my son & I have experienced on more than one occasion, who is based at the Malvern Road practice. I feel she needs to go on a customer care course asap. All the other receptionists are lovely & helpful but her, I work in primary care and such behaviour would not be tolerated. She is the most rude, unhelpful person I have come across; don't dare try to question her.
This surgery has the most unhelpful and rude receptionists I have encountered in my 48 years of life, evasive, know it all, judgemental and rude, covers part of the problems, I appreciate they can get busy, but instead of answers to questions you get cut off midway through a sentence and interrupted by other members of staff when questioning anything, they seems to close Thursday afternoons and frequently let me run out of diabetes medication, anti rejection medication. And instead of trying to help after me coming out of hospital, they say they have not received letters that I have copies of when seeing doctors I have seen them on the screen and I have now been waiting three days to hear from the practise manager who never happens to be a viable when I try to discuss my concerns. I have been a patient here for 25 years, and as soon as I can find elsewhere to move to will be doing so. Very unprofessional staff that answer the phone and greet face to face on reception
They present so many ‘good’ excuses for bad service that just don’t wash. I’ve had 2 joint replacements and a heart condition without getting near a GP. I demanded a GP fade to face and reception said NO. No slots. I said OK, I’ll write in, then you have to do something. She said, the answer will still be NO. Yet other surgeries are functioning totally as precovid normal. My children 3different surgeries can see their GP whenever they need to. And the sad thing is the caring NHS won’t let me change GP.
Today I had a consultation with Dr Samira Masoud based at the railside surgery which is part of this group. I have an ongoing condition that I have not been able to get any real treatment for, I was beginning to lose hope, after feeling like I was being fobbed off. It is the first time I have felt that someone was listening to me and understood my issues, she offered a different type of treatment and ordered new test. She told me not to be discouraged if this doesn’t work and that there are other treatments I can try till I find something that works for me. I actually cried in relief after hanging up the phone. She showed understanding, compassion and empathy. I can not over empathise what a difference this one phone call has made to my outlook on managing my condition
Keep getting prescription buggered up, keep promising to ring my wife who is very ill with heart problems...... never do! Very poor surgery. Cqc need to investigate this surgery.
Appalling especially the reception staff who are abrupt, cold, lack compassion and do all they can to fob you off...when you can get through. Doctor has neve really cared sbout my depression and anxiety: just dished out pills and when ask for referral says there is a long wait. You are rushed in and out in 5 to 10 mind. Asked him to write a letter to say i was ok to return to work: literally one line £35 which must have taken him all of 10 seconds to dictate and when that letter got lost in post this Christmas wanted £5 to print off another copy. I would say try to go elsewhere. I have written to the Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group to find me another GP practice as I have had enough of this practice
Had a blood test and receive a text to ask me to book an appointment but they can't book one for over 4 weeks and then proceeded to tell me to ring 111. I'm not sure how they will be able to help with my blood test results?? Also having been diagnosed over a year ago with a condition and only today they have a nurse that specialises in this area? Great communication and management of their patients conditions! Also they don't actually respond to any formal complaints submitted to the practice manager - I logged one for a separate matter in January 2020 and have never had a response. Lack of duty of care to their patients. Absolutely shocking service since they have merged. One start given but if I could provide a review with no stars then I would!
Zero stars system will not allow no stars. I tried to help a friend at Christmas get her prescription for antibiotics that had been prescribed, the staff were rude, dismissive and not in any way kind or efficient. The process took 2 visits to Railside and 2 to Malvern road and 3 calls to Railside, this totalled 4 working days after a doctor over a phone consultation prescribed them, this was on a Monday. I received them on the Friday. The pharmacist at my local pharmacy even got involved as I was at my whit's end as extremely concerned about my friends worsening health. No humanity or empathy at all.
0 stars not even a 1! disgraceful! Couldn't get an appointment for my 73 Yr old mum. Was told to call back. I did for 3 days. ended up collapsing and being rushed to hospital where we found out she needed more than to rest and drink water as the receptionist told us. She had an infection on her right lung and dangerously low blood pressure. Spent 10 days in hospital. Official complaint in progress now.
