Popped in and tried the gluten free chocolate hazelnut cake. Usually, I don’t like gluten free desserts but this was really nice and chocolatey. The staff are really nice, interior is lovely and the paintings are nice to look at. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to go and try other things!
Super lovely and beautiful. Just by walking in the cafe you can see all the colourful elements around. The food is great. The garden looks super cute. Will visit again.
Popped in for a drink and light lunch Sunday lunch looked amazing but we had supper plans so just shared roast spuds, Yorkies and gravy! Yum! Doggy friendly. This was the first real winter weekend but it was toasty warm! Can’t wait to return for full on Sunday lunch soon!!
I found this place on trip advisor & called to make a reservation. Unfortunately when I called they were full but Giorgio the owner asked I send an email & if a table became available he would contact me, which he did. A week or so prior to our arrival he emailed me the menu for the evening & when I asked about alternatives for one of our party there was no problem. On our arrival Giorgio gave us a fabulous welcome & brought amuse bouche, 1 of which was adapted for our friend with the food intolerance. The place is tiny & he is the only one on the floor which is nice for personal service but we did think the service was a bit slow because of that, not such a problem with the food because it was fresh but we did have to ask a good few times to top up our wine it was kept away from the table We all really enjoyed the food & the atmosphere & while it wasn't cheap it wasn't exorbitant prices either. It was extremely hot inside so maybe a small AC unit might not go astray either. Would recommend for a good food & relaxing evening.
Firstly this is quite difficult to find but well worth it when you get there There are only 6 tables in the restaurant and this helps with the personal effects of the restaurant. The owner is really friendly and calls you by your first name. The food itself is quite tasty and authentic. I had the spinach lasagne and the only downside was it was a bit too much cheese . Well worth a visit tho
Visited recently for lunch and ended up staying for hours — great ambience, choice of background music and very relaxing . The leek pie was yummy and the wine very reasonably priced — great stuff. It made a dull, cold Saturday afternoon a very pleasant experience. We will be back.
Would I recommend this place to a friend.. No, because despite the quaint experience inside the restaurant, I find it hard to justify the ambitious price because the food was average despite the back stories. Great setting, great service, average food, expensive cost.
Just popped in for a coffee and cake after reading a review. Had the limoncello cake and it was delicious! Quiet and cheerful, staff helped with directions to the train station and I wish I had the time to try the sandwiches! Next time ;Food: 5/5
I was super excited after reading all the good reviews... and everything was lovely but when the food arrived, my heart sank. It wasn’t awful but it was average. The arancinis were over-cooked and bland, the chicken was dry and tasteless, the lasagne only tasted of tomato. Such a shame. That said, it’s a really cosy and romantic atmosphere and the waiter was brilliant. The wine was nice. And it’s not expensive so we still had a lovely evening. I just wouldn’t go back when there are so many excellent restaurants in brighton.
Booked in very last minute to eat at this restaurant. Found it quite hard to find as even the Brighton taxi drivers didn't know where it was it is technically round the corner from Clyde Road. Meal was a set price for a 2 course or 3 course meal. We chose 2 course as was on a budget for our weekend stay. Our host was very nice and very friendly. He asked us for drinks and must have mis-heard my boyfriend ask for a glass of Pinot Grigio rather than a bottle. I didn't want wine at first but just went a long with it. Throughout the night our glasses were being topped up and I presumed our host was being generous but it turns out we had been charged for a bottle. The set meal for the evening had a good choice of food. We chose to have a Main and a Dessert. I chose the Veal meal and my partner chose the Lasagne. He loved the Lasagne. My veal was nice but would have been worth the money with a better side rather than peppers and capers. For dessert we both ordered the canaloni style dessert which was lovely but quite messy to eat. Our host also gave us a small slice of Tiramisu as he "couldn't resist". The evening was very enjoyable - it was a very very small restaurant with around five tables seating around twelve people in total. It had a very Mediterranean feel to it and I actually felt like I was in Italy. Our only shock was receiving the bill which was around £20 what I expected to pay - something quite hard for a couple on a low budget for the weekend. We were not aware we had to pay an £8+ service charge and I was disappointed we weren't told when booking.
