I stayed here for about 4 nights. There is no lift and 6 flights of stairs to climb if you’re on the 3rd floor. Pack light or you will die from exhaustion. There is a basic kitchen in the basement. Nice little common are with foosball and pool table just beside reception. Breakfast was 8am-10am and was very basic (toast, jam, watered down juice, coffee, hard boiled eggs). The rooms at this hostel are nice because although there might be 8-16 beds in one room they are spaced out so it doesn’t feel too cramped. Not in the best neighbourhood but its fairly safe anyway.

TLDR: Free breakfast, cheap stay, decent neighborhood, older building=stairs I stayed here during St. Patrick's Day weekend so naturally there was a price spike for all hostels, however, this one was still marginally cheaper than the rest. The staff were very kind considering it was a busy weekend. They offer a free breakfast which is nice. You may have to go up several flights of stairs to get to your room though so be advised.

Great location, great price and excellent oppurtunity to spend time in a real authentic Georgian District in Dublin. We booked into the private double superior and were surprised to stay in an apartment. It was roomy and warm. Staff were really helpful Supposedly some famous Dubs Senator David Norris and muscian Glen Hansard live on this street.

Good location, walking distance from most attractions. Very friendly staff, they kept a bed on top for me : thank you so much for that MEC. Spacious room with high ceilings if you go for the shared room with 4 beds. Soap provided in the bathroom + hair dryer in the shared bathroom down the hall if necessary. No real noise problem by night. Basic breakfast : boiled eggs, bread, fruit juice, marmalade, cereals, coffee or the. You can use the kitchen and fridges next to the breakfast room. Kept my luggage for free on departure day. Free city maps. You can chill in the coaches after a busy day of visiting. I'm content, I'll be back. Kind regards to the MEC staff, Sophie.

Not accessible, the shower head in the room makes too hard to have a decent shower. Water falls down parallel to the wall and if you try to get under it, you might hit the tap and shut the water off. The faucet doesn't have working hot water in the sink if it comes out at all. Hostel doesn't let you stay more than 7 nights in a year. Bad for repeat visitors if for some reason they like this hostel.
