Fantastic service from every member of staff I spoke to. Easy zoom measuring for hire as we do not live nearby. Couriered in plenty of time before wedding so we could try on before hand. 1 call and post hire return was organised same day. Good quality. Plenty of advice. Also bought some items from retail team. Good value, helpful and reassuring team. Definitely recommend.
Poor service for wedding hire and purchase. A number of errors in the run up to and on the day of my wedding. - Not having my full purchase when in to collect - purchased waistcoat had a snag and needed replacing -incorrect details about my purchased tie that was due to be collected - Getting hire kilts items wrong that needed correcting - Hire items still not correct when collected for the wedding. A bit of a stressful process, especially when contacted by groomsmen about the incorrect items, the day before the wedding Some positives: -A free hire bag was given as a means of an apology, after some of the mistakes had been made. - staff were friendly throughout the process - I had no issues with their Dundee branch. They were great Would recommend looking at another kilt hire shop in Aberdeen
afternoon. it is with great disgrace that i write this following my experience within the aberdeen branch prior to my wedding. i'm due to get married in 2 months and the process has been painful to say the least. it has been a mess from the get go and with your previous experience in kilt hires this is why i chose your branch for my wedding. regretting this decision due to the experience i have had. i have a friend getting married a month before me completely different booking and colours somehow these have been crossed over 2 times with people being in the wrong wedding. there is also a wedding the same day as mine with the same surname which i understand may be a rarity but not that difficult to work around. my friend was phoned instead of me and he had to provide my number to whoever phoned. no correct data capture was done it seems. i have been coming in at the weekend due to working mon-fri so i've been dealing with weekend staff and it has shown, up until last friday i hadn't tried on any of my outfit for the biggest day of my life and after trying this on just 2 months before the wedding i'm now unsure of it probably due to the lack of decency i've experienced while being at this branch. i was told after being able to sort out which colour of jacket goes with the outfit as i was unsure due to never being invited to try the outfit on at all i was then told that one of the sizes may not be able to a part due to it being booked out already. once again if i had been able to try this on i could've booked this well in advance. i was then told after spending an hour in the branch on fri the 31st that this is why i should come in during the week. not great customer peace of mind being provided for myself or my friend that is also getting hires from your aberdeen branch. i work in high end customer facing job myself and i would never give anyone the service that myself and friend have been given during this experience not once has anyone offered any goodwill or discount towards the bill. my father came in today to pay his bill and was informed by craig who has been the only decent person during this whole thing that my jacket may be an issue with the plaid i was choosing to wear. i've been told that may be not due to putting a pin through it but once again giving me minimal faith in your branch at all. if it wasn't so close to my wedding i would be changing supplier but i can not. this is a nutshell of what has actually been said and not done during this experience and it is safe to say i will never be recommending anyone to come to mcalls after this.
Very helpful young man, looking at used kilts vast selection all sizes . Just didn't leave enough time to get the whole outfit. Will definitely be back.
Got my kilt for my wedding here along with vests for the groomsman and a full kilt for my son. Massive selection of tartans available and fitting service was brilliant. The staff were brilliant and so helpful, they also even advised of the 'ex-rental' gear to try and help me save some cash. They were very helpful in ensuring I had my kilt made in time for the Wedding and was super happy with the final product. Thanks to all those who work there!
Tried to hire a kilt albeit on Friday 29th for Hogmanay. Was told yes but on top of the standard fee there would be a "late order charge" Obtained the kilt hire from a nearby competitor who didn't have such a charge and so I didn't feel like I was inconveniencing the staff by giving me a service
Ordered a kilt for our wedding this July and when a family member has went into the store to order there matching outfit he was told the kilt had been discontinued. We are deeply angered by the non existent customer service. I dread to think if we had went to collect the kilt the day before the wedding to be told it's discontinued. Avoid at all cost.
Went here due to Philip king being taken over by them. Bad communication and organization when phoning in trying to rebook measures etc. On collection it's a good thing we made them check everything was there rather than trust them, as half the kilt stuff wasn't packed. Glad we checked before travelling 3 hours to a wedding. Only good service was a young woman long brown hair downstairs that did my son's and I measurements, you were great. Two stars are for the actual kilts quality being good, but that's about it unfortunately.
Step in store for quick brows for some items of interest. Met Ben , explain what I was trying to do , he came up with a few solutions for me. Excellent staff Excellent service Excellent selection
I was delighted with my kilt fitting by an expert there's no doubt about that, Craig was just great a proper professional. He made doubly sure everything was as it should be, perfection. It would be great if all personnel worked to his very high standards, McCall's are very fortunate he works for them.
