I've always loved The Maypole. It is a great pub which has a nice garden for the summer and is nice and cosy inside for the colder months. It is located in a lovely village location which is ideal for walks or as a stop off point whilst cycling around the countryside. The food and drink is of a high standard and is well priced and the staff are also very friendly. All the necessary Covid-19 measures are in place with plenty of sanitizer, space between tables and it's also nice and clean meaning you can easily relax and enjoy yourself.
The menu is extremely comprehensive with some items not found elsewhere rabbit is one example. Service always good and the food awesome. Never been disappointed.
Visited for lunch, got squeezed in a table for 4 surrounded buy other dinners very tight area, and could hardly hear our own conversations, decor is old and dated, food was average, service was polite
Terrible experience. Can not comment on the food as we left before it was even served due to the disgustingly poor attitude of one member of staff in particular. Very unwelcoming and rude. Would absolutely not recommend to anyone unless you like being insulted.

Since moving to Borden just over a year ago, this has become our local pub. Only ever had a great experience here, the pub is beautiful inside and out, the garden is lovely! The staff are very friendly and the food is amazing, never had a bad meal! Great choice of drinks too!
Went in on Sunday for my father in laws 80th birthday meal. We all had the roast dinner. It was amazing. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good roast on a Sunday .
V nice village pub, with great food and a selection of ales.
