Got seated with no hassles and the staff were all really friendly. The food was spot on.Cooked well and hot. Highly recommended.
Good Place for the kids to play. Staff we're friendly and helpful. The food however Cold, Undercooked... Not even the kids wanted to eat mac and cheese, which is one of their favourite meals. It was empty when we was there so there should be no excuses. I don't know how they managed to mess up, frying and microwaving precooked, processed food ‍ #SackTheWan*er InTheKitchen
In the past this place has always been a bit 'hit or miss' so we haven't been for a while. Today it was a hit!! We sat outside for a while and then moved indoors to eat and there was plenty of spare tables. We ordered a mixed grill, a ploughman's and a kids meal and everything was cooked perfectly. The service was very good and pretty quick. The drinks were also good and my son was more than happy with his refillable coke! There was a nice selection of music being played and at a good level so it helped add a bit of atmosphere. There is a children's play area both indoors and outdoors so if you have young children that is a bonus as it helps to keep them occupied while you relax. All in all a good afternoon.
Lovely breakfast here on Friday. Good food that was nice and hot. Gluten free bread was lovely too. The only downside was the staff. I had pre-booked and stood waiting at the area that said wait here to be seated, people walked past us and went to the bar and got seated first and the women just completely ignored us. She then didn't seem very friendly or accommodating. Some customer service training is definitely needed. Also the soft play needs updating, the toddler area had two soft animal shapes and nothing else, some of the toy machines were switched off too. Could do with some love !!
This is in a good location with plenty of parking Usually. The staff are very good, friendly, well trained and efficient. Just what you want for a relaxing evening. The place is well decorated and kept clean and tidy, even at busy times. The food is usually good and except at the busiest of times, arrives quickly after ordering it. If you are a member of the Brewers Fayre club, there are often very good offers on food deals sent to your inbox. Now the moan: Their method of taking orders for food at the bar is very frustrating, especially if you just want a drink. There is rarely enough staff to take the food orders and serve drinks. It isn't as if there isn't enough staff on duty, just that the method for order taking is grossly inefficient. Why the waiting staff who run the food can't take orders for it is beyond me and is extremely annoying. Waiting staff in other Whitbread owned chains can take food orders at the table so why not the Bobbing Apple? I'm not saying that I won't visit again but I am finding that the frequent and lengthy waits at the bar are outweighing my enjoyment of all of the things that the place does so well.
Wonderful staff, lovely food and great for kids. Daniel the manager was incredibly friendly and helpful when we were let down by a different venue. The staff were incredibly busy but helpful and friendly. Wonderful experience, cannot recommend enough. Plus the children loved the soft play. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Fun soft play area
Staff are fantastic. Food almost inedible and overpriced for the little mess you get. I'd give 5 stars for the front of house staff but the food is so so bad it just doesn't make sense. Who is cooking this! Who quality checks! Not even going to tell the poor front of house staff who have to put up with the complaints and refunds. Paid and now going across the road to McDonald's.
The waitress/barmaid was really lovely, had a nice conversation with her and she was so nice. The curry i had was beautiful as was the garlic flatbread with cheese. However, there was a dirty knife and a stick of cucumber on the floor from previous customers. Soup wasn’t the best, tea was cold coffee machine broken and no coca-cola either. The service from the waitress/barmaid completely made this entire meal worth it, she’s so lovely and deserves a raise.
We visited on Sunday, the day it snowed. We opted for the carvery which was the quickest option. We unfortunately got our vegetables just before they refreshed them so they were not great. Staff were very helpful especially cutting up a birthday cake we brought with us. The thing that worried me most was that children were going outside and brining in snow to the soft play area from outside which was probably making the play area wet and dangerous.
Food was great, on par with other Brewer's Fayres I've been to. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Toilet seemed to not have been cleaned in the recent past, but the main restaurant was well presented.Food: 5/5
