Ordered butter chicken and tikka masala. Both were full of a sweet coconut flavour and texture it tasted like we had been delivered coconut ice with chicken! Never had an Indian meal like it and not in a good way! Absolutely awful and unenjoyable - inedible to be honest as it was just too sweet! Samoosas were a rip off - 2 tiny samoosas for £3.75! Overall very disappointed! Our first and last meal with Masala Kitchen! :
I never do reviews but I feel I have too as it was so bad and it seems like I am not the only one! No taste at all. We got chicken korma, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala and they we all curded with coconut as the main flavour?? Don't know if they used any flavour/spices. Indian or baby food? It was a waste of money and it wasn't cheap! It would have been nice to have the cheese melted not just thrown on top of the naan bread too.
I'm not one to ever complain about a take away or even make the effort to write a review but this was OUTSTANDINGLY POOR! Chewy popadums, cold onion bhajis, the lamb was all fat and no meat, vegetable korma was cabbage and sweetcorn only, sauce in both was a dry paste like sauce that separated into a horrible watery liquid. They forgot one of the 2 drinks I ordered and the one they did send was from a multi pack which aren't meant for re-sale. All round piss poor. Don't bother, you'd get a better curry from the supermarket!
Good quality food! Tasty and well made WITH Fresh ingredients as well as such Tender and succulent tandoori chicken which was my personal favourite. Ordered for a birthday meal and was well catered For as per my requests. Will be ordering again soon. Thank you
delicious and generous portions. There are plenty of Indian takeaways around but finding a good indian takeaway is hard to find. Masala Kitchen I found to be perfect for me. The food was spicy they always asked how hot i wanted it with plenty of meat in it unlike other takeaways I have had where you have to look for tge meat amongst the sauce. Delivery I found to be very quick feom the moment I placed my order. I read past reviews but thought I would be my own judge and I am happy I took the chance.
The Clapham Curry Club had our biweekly event here and we where very disappointed in the service. We asked if he could do anything for us and he said he would look after us. The waiter said he would do a meal for £15. Next he was charging everyone different amounts for the meal and then claimed it was £16. Safe to say the club will not be going here again.
Unfortunately I did not enjoy my takeaway from here. My murg makhani had a hair in it and tasted cheesy. I could also taste a lot of ghee which I'm personally not a fan of. The rice tasted kind of stale. The king prawn puri had a strange cheesy off-taste and the "king prawns" looked like chewed up gum and nothing like prawns. The poppadom wasn't great either. The aloo chaat was nice as was the mint sauce.
Had curry here twice and both times the curry was terrible. Thought the first time may have been bad luck, but that wasn’t the case. Tasteless, way too much oil and coconuty flavour. Wish I could get our £30 back.
Nice takeaway service. I'm not sure what some of the other reviews are talking about but my experience with them was not bad at all. They have good prices and know their curries unlike some other places I've been. I would say try their takeaways and judge for yourself. I must say their decor isn't very modern but that's not so important to me.
Cheap meat, over cooked and swimming in grease. Dishes are indistinguishable from each other: they all look like slop and taste much worse. Much better Indian food available in the area. Avoid this place unless you like being massively disappointed and ripped off
