This place provided really poor food and will not be returning. The food was not fresh, came out cold and after complaining, got taken away and put in a micowave, which made it worse. The meals for both of us, lacked any flavour, had little taste with no authenticity and both felt, provided no value for money.
Ended up paying 43 pounds for a meal with is extortionate for 1 person! 36 pounds for pappadoms and pickle tray for 6 people was too much. Service was good until the bill discussion.Food: 2/5
Good neighbourhood Indian food. We had the mixed platter, Paneer Tikka and naan bread to start with. Our main courses were good too: Chicken Tilka Masala, Lamb curry, Chicken korma and Aloo gobi.Food: 4/5
Incredibly disappointed with our experience. A 1hr10min wait for a takeaway, which was inedible at best. We ordered online at 7.30pm and after an hour, called to check in on when we could expect our food. They didn’t even check the order number and said 10 minutes. We called 20 minutes later and they finally checked our order number and said maybe another 10 minutes. Before we had even put the phone down the order arrived. They clearly had no idea where our order was or that it had even left the restaurant! The curries were inedible and there were 2 items missing. Both curries were drowning in oil, they were tasteless and missing most of the ingredients - a thoroughly unpleasant experience - 1/10 the 1 is for the poppadoms which were the only edible part of the meal. Will not be ordering from here again.
Poor service. Waiter was lost in his phone too often. Candles unlit. Menu far too long to have anything fresh. Uninspiring food, every thing swimming in sauce and touched up with ridiculous levels of food colouring. And who eats after 8 these days. Such nasty chocolate. The Raita could have been radio active it green. Restaurant isout dayed belongs to India restaurants of the 1990s or even 80s. Check put something more temporary like Cinnamon Club or just God to M&S for fresh tasty Indian food. Don't waste time or money here. Vegetarian options: There were veg options but they were very much 2nd class offering Wheelchair accessibility: Could get in with wheelchair but probably could visit bathroom
I was delighted with the food and service at Akash, it was the best curry I've had in years - anywhere - with succulent meat and a tangy sauce. The poppadoms were fresh, not at all oily as you sometimes get. And the mango chutney and mint dips were the best I've ever had in a restaurant. Definitely will return.
Pops, chutneys and starters were really great. The mains and rice were really poor. Meat wasn't great, little dry and the butter chicken was really poor. It should be very easy for an Indian restaurant to make a passable butter chicken. But we didn't even eat it as it was really awful. The rice was far too fragrant for simple pilau. And the other main we had wasn't great either. Such a shame as the starters were brill.
We ordered take out last night and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I wasn't sure based on reviews, but I'm glad we tried this restaurant because our food was excellent. We'll be back soon!
One of the best Baltis in London add the King Cobra for a very special meal, next time a smaller glass than a pint is required for sipping enjoyment.
The guy who was serving us today was soooooooo aggressive. We left early because, we felt chastised simply for ordering food!
