Invited by a friend for lunch. The place is well located but looks a bit rundown. The waiter was friendly. We both had cottage pie and a cup of tea. My cup had a brown mark on top not properly washed. The food was generously served and ok, for I am not a big fan of cottage pie.Food: 3/5
We fell in love with this place. It's been in their family since 1962. Feels like a lovely community place, safe, cosy, and delightfully old school, very soulful. Someone come take the cafe over, learn the trade, and continue this lovely tradition here

Proper old-school South London cafe, I have friends who have been eating there since the 1970s. But as well as classic cafe food, there's a good range of more modern delicatessen-style food and drink, so there's something for everyone.

I decided to visit this place as a trip down memory lane last week and was pleasantly surprised that there Steak happens to be the juiciest and tastiest Steak I have had in a very long time even the portion is very good and the whole meal was under a Tenner. The quality rated up against any well know Steak house to me is definitely a 5 star Will definitely be a regular for my friends and family now
Been past Mary's cafe many occasions and not particularly noticed it, went in and gave it a try today. Basic plain interior with no bells and whistles and all the better for it, just good honest grub, friendly service, no pretentious B.S Only let down was the bread slices, it a 4 and a half stars overall in my book. .
I was so lucky to find this! so close from home as well hahaha! Definitely gonna come here again, the staff is very friendly, the prices were more than fair and in terms of portion..well, i had to take mine to go xD
