Visited the Tavern earlier this week, one of Joseph Holt's pubs situated in the picturesque craft village of Marsh Mill in Thornton-Cleveleys and sampled their recently launched Spring menu.nnWe tried the following:nThe Ultimate Burger Classic Beef burger, crispy buttermilk chicken fillet and slow cooked beef brisket topped with mature Cheddar, BBQ sauce and beer battered onion ringsnJoseph Holt's Trailblazer braised Featherblade Steak and Melting Onions with olive oil crushed new potatoes, garlic buttered spinach and green beansnHot Honey Chicken Battered chicken breast chunks in a sticky spiced honey glazenGarlic and Stilton Mushrooms Button mushrooms in a creamy garlic and stilton sauce paired with a garlic-herb ciabattanThe Lakes' Sticky Toffee Pudding served with custardnJoseph Holt's Trailblazer Stout & ChardonnaynnThoroughly enjoyed everything that we had from the moreish hot honey chicken & creamy mushroom starters to the perfectly cooked tender featherblade steak, flavourful massive burger and scrumptious sticky toffee pudding.nnLooking for a place to unwind with your significant other or mates while enjoying a fab selection of hearty food, homemade desserts, cakes, beers, ales and a carvery available seven days a week? Tavern at the Mill's got you sorted.
Sunday afternoon. It was packed and I can see why. All of the carvery was freshly out out and the meat was succulent. The carver gave plenty of meat. The roasties could have done with a bit longer but this is my preference. Attentive staff and served at the counter with professionalism. It was £34 for 2 carveries, one with pigs n blankets and 2 drinks.
Good portion of meat. Home made yorkshires. Would have liked veg to be less soggy but that is personal preference. Staff very friendly and ice cream looked delicious loads of favourite flavours. Can take dogs into bar area and order food if you wanted. Dog bowls also provided. All round lovely pub.
I've been here 3 times the food was really great twice. It was a little under par once. They did however change an item on the carvery that looked a little dry when I asked if they could. I would definitely go back again. It is the best carvery I've been to in this area.
