Not the best dining experience tbh. The young lady wasn't as friendly when placing my food order and the food itself is overpriced for what you get. The steak dish was already nearly £20 but in faint writing it says a sauce would be almost £3 more. Surely it should be included? The peppercorn sauce was so thin and the chips came on a ceramic bowl? To give the impression of a fuller plate, I don't think it's neccessary. Generally, this place is nice to have a few drinks, it's spacious and mostly well kept. They have a nice outside drinking area at the back but I feel they could offer better quality in their dishes. The other dish we ordered was the Scampi, could have done better with salad/presentation for the money you pay for these dishes. I would suggest all staff treat all patrons with in welcoming & friendly manner and make some adjustments to the presentation/ quality/ quantity of some dishes. Afterall, this is not a student pub with student prices.
Love this place. Food was excellent. Went for a Sunday roast and it was delicious. I had the ow roasted pork and my wife had the chicken. Best meal we've had in a very long time. We'll be back....thanks to the team.Food: 5/5
Went for Sunday lunch as it was recommended by a friend - would never return! The worst Sunday lunch I've had for ages! Chicken was so dry, it was unbearable, like it was cooked days before and reheated! The beast thing about it was the veg and Yorkshire pudding! Overall food standard was shocking! Ordered a flat white which was awful! Only positives about this place are the table service, polite staff and the general decor/ambience. Such a shame, this used to be a fantastic place. The menu was pretty limited for other meals, even the dessert was poorly put together! Utter shambles!
Really nice pub on the way in to central Leicester. Friendly efficient staff who are happy for you to try a bit of their wide ranging beers ales etc. Quieter atmosphere with a pleasant buzz when it gets a bit busier. Previously had some great pub food!Food: 5/5
A really pleasant surprise. Lived in Leicester 8 years and my firstvtrip to the marquis. Gastro pub modern interior with a lovely garden space. The food is approachable but interesting with a selection to suit pretty much anyone. An everards pub so don't expect a large selection of other brewery ales, but the ones they have are well kept and the staff informed. I'll be coming back
We visited here this evening. Sam was warm and welcoming and looked after us during our visit. The service was great. The food was hot, tasty and delicious. Thank you for restoring our faith.
Visited here once and wasn't the friendliest pub I've ever walked into, bar staff ignored us for a good 5mins, and although not rude, definitely felt a bit of a local vibe to the place and not very welcoming. The pub itself is clean, with a great layout but we didn't even finish our drinks before leavingService: 2/5
