Despite successfully booking the track and driving 50 minutes to get there, I was told the track was shut. What exactly is the point of a booking system if you don’t block out bookings/notify people given you’ve shut the track the whole week?nnThere is also no point telling me that the track has been shut the whole week, some tracks from other parts of the UK actually clear their tracks, and I am not driving 50 mins to check on the track because someone couldn’t be bothered to send an email out to inform booking holders the track is shut. The treadmill is not an alternative for specific training sessions.nnGiven that it’s the only facility for an athletics track within an hour radius and people have training to do, the bumpy track and lack of communications on whether the track is open or closed is truly appalling.nnWould also be very helpful if someone picked up the phone during working hours.
All weather pitches are appalling, ridiculously overpriced, and poorly maintained. It took 6 months winter months to change one of the bulbs in 1 of 4 spotlights. There is only 1 for each pitch! Instead, the put expensive battery powered lights up. I've seen brighter phone torches. The nets are that damaged and just get in the way. Easy money, I suppose.
I go here regularly almost a daily basis. It does need a refurbishment in the pool especially but the staff are just fantastic. My Grandson also gets his swimming lessons here he's doing fab thanks to sue. I have also completed 2 sponsored swims her one for young lives v cancer and more recent Casual Minds matter Highly recommend and thank you to the lovely staff
Great for swimming, baby pool is lovely and warm. My son has had swimming lessons here for a couple of years taught by Sue and is a very confident and safe swimmer. Changing rooms are good, family change facilities are useful. Always plenty of parking, even when sporting events are on. Swimming gets busy on weekend mornings.
My nephew goes swimming on a Wednesday and had zero confidence going into the water but now since his swimming lessons with Sue he is so confident and loves going!!
