The best market in Britain? That's their proud boast and do you know what? I don't disagree.nThe range of small independent market stalls had something for everyone. I had a wonderful time wandering around wondering if I could bring potential purchases home.
Cute!!!nThe stalls, people, vibe - perfect. Go if you're in the area!nSpecial mention to the lady who runs the cookware stall - bought some cute bits and asked her about food. Straight away she emphatically told me to try the Thai place. I went straight there and it was amazing and so cheap!!! The bookstore on the top floor is quaint and a really lovely woman runs it. She showed me an amazing 2nd edition copy of Lord of the rings. Overall, charming, friendly, good food, great stalls.
What a treasure and absolute surprise to find such a traditional market selling everything from fresh food. Jewellery. Shoes and bags. Clothing. BUT the best part of the market in our view is the small eateries. Absolutely amazing choice thats reasonably priced and freshly made. We will definitely make a B line there for lunch the next time we are in shrewesbury.
So many small businesses in a great place. Lovely to see such a unique collective of services, produce and dining. Particularly loved the wine bar.
So many things to see inside and many food options! Defo recommend taking some time to stroll around and go to the top as well to read about the history of the building I personally think the 60s architecture was horrific, but inside it’s very nice
