Excellent indoor market, lifts to food hall and balcony level as well as stairs. Several good butchers, super fruit and veg. Multiple food outlets of different cuisines as well as two traditional cafes for breakfast etc.Vinyl records, bric a brac, wine bar, gin bar etc. Closes at 4pm but several times a year they have late opening special events.Albrecht liked his breakfast.
We love this place. Every time we head to North Wales we stop here to stock up on groceries - quality meat, great fresh fruit and veg. There are also some really nice cafés and restaurants. Definitely do pay them a visit!
Excellent market. Everything you need is here and this place is great for a solo trekker as well.nThis market is a must visit.
Reports of this being the best market in England overstate what is here. Nice to be indoors but vegetables were expensive, stalls had more art / antiques and books than I would need. Dissatisfaction on my part was compounded by poor food offerings from cafes. In summary, too much humus, too many ‘artisans’ and too few stalls of real merit. This market is primarily for tourists and is not dog friendly. There is a lift but be prepared to use stairs.
The market as loads of very interesting articles and excellent choice of coffee foods . Clean too old fashioned but in keeping with the market. Shrewsbury is a lovely town with loads of independent shops and attractions. The river is just stunning parking isn't cheap but worth a visit for something different for Christmas gifts
