I've been going to this barbers for years, as far back as to when Mark (the owner) was cutting hair for a barbers called "Hair Excellence" up the street. In the past year Mark's Salon has had new barbers come in and out and ever since it has truthfully been a TERRIBLE experience. The quality of service has continually been poor and very unprofessional when not under the supervision of Mark, who unfortunately for his loyal customers would frequently be absent. As a result, I've constantly witnessed barbers randomly decide to take their lunch break when there is a shop full of customers, consequently leaving only one barber on duty. I've also witnessed barbers contentiously show no respect for waiting queues and put their friends in the front of the waiting queue, despite being fully aware that customers have been waiting their turn for long periods of time. More importantly, when receiving a haircut, the barber refuses to pay attention and is constantly reminded to focus on the haircut in progress by the hairdressers in the salon. I've not only witnessed this, but also received a permanent bad/damaging haircut as a result of the barber's lack of attention. So it happens that other individuals who have been going to Mark's Salon for years that I know, refuse to go to Mark's Salon because the barbers apparently always do a lazy job when Mark isn't there. Considering that this used to be my trusted barbers since I was a child, it is a real shame at what the place has become nowadays. I certainly will not be returning to Mark's Salon and have been getting my hair cut elsewhere. I wish that this review could reach more people as I don't want people to find out when it's too late, like myself. All I can do is voice what I have seen on a both a frequent and recent basis, in the hope that it can save someone a bad haircut and permanent damage, I'm very disappointed, and this is coming from someone who was loyal to this barber shop since they were a child. NOTE: If you care about consistency, this most certainly isn't the place!

Great salon that take time to listen to what want. No swearing, polite atmosphere, a great place to network and gain in understanding while you wait for your turn in the chair.They cater to all types of hair which is perfect for me as i have been told that mixed/coolie hair is too hard to trim. I travel from brixton once every 2 weeks and have been for over 12 years now. its worthit!
