Stayed there for a few nights, and what I loved most was a friendly staff. Guys were so helpful and friendly, so I felt I was looked after very well. The hotel is located on the coast, so you have amazing views from the restaurant or the room if it's on the right side, perhaps depending on your booking. It's only 8 minutes walk up the town. There is plenty of parking for the residents. Only a minute walk to marina or the beach.
The staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating for all questions and accommodations needed for severe allergies. We had early expeditions and they were able to accommodate early breakfasts. They also surprised us with warm tea every night! We couldn’t have had a better experience - 5 stars all around!
We went for lunch only, most of us had the fish chowder which was amazing and great value for money, but my father had the lamb which was quite disappointing. The lamb was tasty but it had no veg and about 10 new potatoes. That cost £28nWe had the pavlova for desert which had 3 tiny pieces of strawberries and 3 blueberries. Wasn’t the best tasting pavlova and most definitely not worth £7.
We stayed for 1 night in this hotel and found it to be a hotel of 2 parts! The ground floor was in good condition with a nice coffee Dock and a good restaurant alongside. The upper level was the bedrooms. A single lift or stairs got you to the bedrooms. The carpet in the lift was dirty with a bit of an smell. We had a larger room at extra cost which had a magnificent view over the harbour and beach. The room was tired and the mattress well past its shelf life! The room had a musty smell which we found to be coming from the small shower room. The smell was overpowering to be honest. No hot water so no shower and had to wash with cold water!! The staff were all brilliant and very attentive. The food was an 8 out of 10. As it was 1 night, we chose not to highlight the smell or the lack of hot water. My view is that a hotelnshould be aware of bad smells via the cleaning staff. It was evident that whilt cleaning was carried out, it was not to a high standard. It will not be a hotel that we will revisit sadly. Its biggest asset has to be the view from our room 210! I have difficulty recommending this hotel.
Beautiful location and beautiful place to eat. The evening meal with a good friend whilst visiting N Ireland was ok. Lacked good seasoning both dishes. No pepper mill available for a pasta dish. The champ was a bit poor in taste but the beef so tender. Not sure paying before eating a meal is good for customer service and further recommendations. I would consider staying here. Today was a meal with a good friend. Its the little touches which really make a good meal very enjoyable and a great experience especially whilst on holiday and back visiting my home land N Ireland.
