I’m afraid to say this was a disappointment. Small and overdone steak, wilted rocket salad, empty restaurant. Reminded me of Jamie’s Italian, the kind of restaurant t that has a celebrity chef name on the door but the food is not up to scratch. Walk a few minutes round the corner and enjoy a meal in Prezzo or Wagamama. Just don’t spend your money here.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn for work and arrived quite late so chose to dine here. I wish I'd have eaten from the snack menu in the bar. The staff are very nice, attentive and welcoming however food was awful. I ordered a spaghetti carbonara and a side of garlic bread, I waited a while and got apologies off every staff member that walked past and offered a free drink which I declined. I can only assume my food had sat on the hot plate for an hour when the waiter served it holding a towel. My carbonara was scrambled : when I mentioned something to the manager she patronisingly said it was cooked with egg - I knew this, but never made or been served it with the egg scrambled. Ate the garlic bread and went to pay, I was offered a drink which I refused but on receipt a drink nor discount were taken off my bill and I paid full price. I wouldn't recommend or return, eat elsewhere. Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible lift upto the resturaunt and on a one level
Maybe I ordered the wrong food , the burger was really dry and I definitely prefer five guys burgers! But the cheese cake was amazing ! Definitely up for afternoon tea but not food ! And waiter was so funny and friendly !
For anyone looking for somewhere to eat that's a bit quieter than The Dockyard you'll like this and be pleasantly surprised at how it's not much more expensive. Every time I'm here the food looks and tastes great, the staff are friendly and I always feel welcome as its relaxed atmosphere is streets away from the boistrousness of nearby venues. Watch out for match day offers, happy hour and other decent offers.
For a restaurant attached to a holiday inn I must admit I didn't very high hopes for quality and service. However not only was I proven wrong, my views going in where completely blown out of the water. Not only was the food delicious but the service was top notch. The staff in the restaurant single handedly turned what was a poorly timed business trip into an very memorable birthday for me. I simply cannot recommend this place enough
Very quiet restaurant even on a weekend night. We had dinner included in our hotel stay rate so dined here. Cant fault the service Very friendly. Unfortunately if you are on a dinner rate you only get to choose from a limited menu, which for main means you can only get HALF a pizza. The pizza was over cooked and difficult to cut. The cheesecake dessert was stale and stodgy and one spoonful got eaten. Overall we reckon our meal cost £21pp when we paid £25pp extra for dinner to be included in our stay, so didn’t even get what we paid for. No wonder the place is empty!
Every meal we had got sent back. Chewy Calamari over cooked rock hard chicken and prawns on sharing mix grill, under cooked raw onion rings and 2 off congealed stale unbaked cheese and we still had to pay £100!! Fuming! Just to add insult to injury just been sick in the toilets!Food: 1/5
I came for afternoon tea with my son last week for his birthday. I pre-booked and asked for halal options which were provided. Unlimited hot drinks and the scones were warm which is always a good sign. It was quiet with no music so there's a lack of atmosphere. Sandwiches were average and standard fillings. I liked the desserts except the carrot cake which was too sweet. Service was good.
We were up visiting from Dorset as our son is studying at Manchester. We wanted to celebrate his birthday somewhere close to media city. We couldn’t get a room at the holiday Inn but knew the hotel well. Our youngest son has severe autism, therefore going out for dinner can be stressful. We visited in the day to prepare him and spoke with James the manager. James took an interest in our sons needs he very compassionate understanding and professional. We arrived at the restaurant with a table with access to a power source, one of our sons comfort needs is his iPad. Throughout the meal James could not do enough for us he even asked if William would prefer no birthday singing when we brought out the birthday cake. The food was excellent and will be visiting again soon. I only apologise that this review wasn’t submitted earlier.
Marco’s New York Italian – A great place bringing the best of both Italian and American food Thank you for the hospitality that I received when visiting your Media City restaurant last Friday for a pre-theatre meal. Food and Menu There is a simple menu that includes all the Italian and American classics that people love to eat. The choices are limited however it does cater for a range of diners from the Meat lover to the Vegetarian. In the Starters there is a Garlic Pizza Bread that is tasty with a great Garlic aroma. There is also American Style Nachos with Jalpenos and all the sauces to dip into. It also has Calamari, Ribs and the Chicken Crunch too. In the Mains there is a great selection of Pizzas with good flavours. There are also additional toppings that you can add for an extra charge. There is also a decent variety of Steak, Pasta and Salad dishes for those that fancy those too. For the Burger fan there are some Beef Burgers and a Chicken one too. There is also a wide variety of sides that are a great addition to your meal from Chips, Sweet Potato Fries to Onion Rings and Garlic Bread too. For those with a sweet tooth then there is a selection of popular Desserts including the Warm Chocolate Brownie, Cheesecake and, Tiramisu that is creamy and indulgent to eat. If you like cold Desserts then there is Ice Cream and the Knicker Bocker Glory. For the Starters the Garlic Pizza Bread was tasty however it was too crispy and crunchy to eat. It is usually soft and scrumptious to eat. The Calamari was pleasant to eat but could have been cooked better as it was a bit rubbery to eat. The Chicken Crunch was delicious. It was cooked nicely and the Mayonnaise dip went well with it. For the Mains the Chicken Fillet was well cooked and it was beautifully presented. It was tasty and heart-warming to eat. The Salad and the Mayo added more flavour otherwise it would have been bland just having Chicken inside a Burger Bap. The Sweet Potato Fries were comforting to eat. They were crispy on the outside and were soft on the inside. I love how they are presented in a small pan dish. Cute. The Onion Rings were OK but they broke apart every time I ate them. This suggests that they should have been cooked better to give them a solid texture and stop them breaking. The Dessert was the stand out course of the dinner. The Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream was lovely in I ts presentation. The Brownie was cooked to perfection. It was not hard to eat or runny with gooey and indulgent Chocolate. Heaven. The Ice Cream was great too as it cut through the richness of the Chocolate adding texture. Drinks They have a good selection of soft drinks which include all the popular ones to have. There is also a small variety of juices on offer too. However they do not serve non-alcoholic Mocktails. Service The service was good. Our waitress was friendly, welcoming and attentive. She gave us the time to choose our dishes. Her suggestions for food were spot on. It was good that the food came out pretty quickly and it was beautifully presented. Lighting and Access The lighting at this restaurant was pretty bright which allows for an enjoyable meal for most people including those with visual impairments. Entry to this restaurant is at the Holiday Inn Hotel to which there is a small step to enter into the building. Once inside there is both stairs and lifts to get to the Mezzazine floor. This is where you will find the restaurant. Furniture The furniture here is brilliant. I love the big tables which are spacious. The chairs are big and are comfortable which gives a relaxed ambiance so that you can dine in style. Parking Parking is available at the Quayside Media City UK multi-storey car park formerly The Lowry. If you are a Blue Badge holder then you will get 4 free hours when stamping your ticket. This takes effect from the time of arrival. Alternatively you can park at the Media City multi-storey which is closer to the venue. Vegetarian options: There are some Vegetarian options but they might be limited such as the Garlic Pizza Bread for starters and the Mac and Cheese for mains. There is also Fish and Salads too. Parking: Parking is available at the Quayside Media City UK formerly the Lowry multi-storey car park. If you are a Blue Badge holder then you can have 4 hours free once your ticket is stamped.
