We enjoyed a 5-star meal at a 4-star hotel! We dined early so it wasn’t too busy. We were seated promptly by solicitous and friendly host. It was a Saturday evening and the staff advised that Starters and multi-course dinners are not served on weekends. We were fine with that. We asked for bottled water and my wife had a glass of wine and both were served quickly. I ordered the Fillet Steak Au Poivre and she had Ribeye steak. We added sides of green salad, onion rings and Gratin Dauphinoise. WAY too much food , but those were items we wanted to sample. The food was delivered in a matter of minutes… and it was all perfectly delicious. The Fillet was melt in your mouth tender and likewise the Ribeye. The green salad overflowing the bowl, the onion rings were amazing and the Gratin Dauphinoise was exactly what we had in mind. We highly recommend.
I brought my husband for dinner here. We could not book in advance so turned up and we were seated by Jade - what a wonderful waitress, friendly, attentive, helpful and very accommodating. We ordered starters, but they needed to be changed which was done with ease. The chef was very accommodating. We had caesar salad and macaroni cheese. The main meal was lovely and faultless - our compliments to the chef! My hubby had steak and I had a burger. He also had cheesecake and I had sticky toffee pudding which was huge but delicious. The only issue to note is cocktails were included in the deal, but they don't make them on site - a bit strange! But we were ogre wine or beer, and we had rose wine , beer. We were very happy with the alternative. As I said Jade was lovely and is an asset to the team, she was very lovely. We will be back as it was very nice and so was the restaurant and ambience!
Ate here with friends as we're staying in the hotel. Scotch egg was tasty and cooked perfectly. Fillet steak with the garlic & mushroom was just ok. I was expecting more from the Marco Pierre White connection, but I'm guessing it's just one of many of his restaurants in the UK.Food: 3/5
Before I give the details I am an 86 year old male and an experienced diner. When I was employed I was a frequent diner, now I am retired I dine less frequently. In my life I have never had to write a restaurant review like this. My wife and I arrived and were immediately shown to our table and after a respectable amount of time a server asked if we were ready to order to which we replied please give us a couple of minutes. Ten minutes later no server came again to our table yet the severs were walking around the rather empty dining area totally ignoring us, I had to gain the attention of one of the servers. The meal: we both ordered smoked salmon for the starter which was very good except the lemon was so hard to squeeze to get any juice from it. My wife ordered the Caesar salad, well that’s what it was called. 99% third rate lettuce, better ones can be purchased from Tesco. There were about two anchovies cut into smaller pieces, half an egg and a lot of inedible croutons; these croutons were not only vile they were almost impossible to eat because they so tough, how the kitchen managed to achieve that is beyond me. For the main course I selected the gnocchi which was passable. For dessert I chose cheesecake which was nice but this restaurant didn’t know about cutlery requirements so no fork was provided with the spoon until I asked for one. How they expected me to get pieces of cheesecake onto my spoon without a fork I beyond me. The ambiance was cold, mail because it was 2/3 empty, I wonder why. This was the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in and I cannot recommend it to anyone.
My family and I went for an early Xmas evening dinner and it was the best place I have been to everyone who say it’s not worth the money it’s totally is I was full after the first 2 courses still had pudding but it was the best will be back for 3 year anniversary celebration perhapsFood: 5/5
Quite a lot of negative comments on here, esp by people with gift vouchers, so was a bit nervous about going. However, we went yesterday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had £65 from Buyagift which covered 2 cocktails, 2 starters, 2 mains limited selection and 2 puds, and although we did pay for a few extras which were a bit ridiculously overpriced, the food was very good and the service excellent. As long as you know you'll be charged heavilly for water, bread and coffees then you can make that choice. Just read what IS included, in your gift voucher first, so you know what to expect. Simples!
Went here for my son’s graduation meal and wanted something special after him working hard for 5 years. I felt very disappointed we sat down ordered sourdough bread and another couple sat down after us and got theirs first and there main by time we got our sourdough bread. They forgot my side and by time we could get a member of staff to ask where it was I had eaten my meal without it. Was made to feel unwelcome there. I’ve emailed restaurant to let them know of visit and they clearly don’t care no reply at all. All they kept asking was do we have a voucher and I said in the end no I’m paying full price after I kept saying no when they asked, if I had a voucher would they’ve given better service. I’d never go back there I’d go to the one in Leicester Square they’re more friendly and food is 100% better
We have been to a MPW steakhouse Co and liked it so much we asked friends for a voucher to attend another MPW restaurant. The difference from the second we arrived was stark. We had a £100 voucher and got a quality we would have expected from a wetherspoons. Waited 10m to be seated before then being put in a corner facing the road. The wine we ordered they then didn't have because they blamed supplier issues due to covid. They then said all they have is a cheaper bottle that wasn't even on the menu and seemed like it had been borrowed from the bar next door. We asked if they had cocktails like the website said but they said covid meant they don't do any at all any more. We then ordered burgers with bbq glaze and ketchup as a sauce on it, but only wanted one with the bbq glaze and the other without. When they arrived we asked which was which and they said they didn't know, then changing this answer to 'none come with bbq glaze because of covid' The burgers we got both had neither and for some reason had Mayonnaise on. We tried to still enjoy it as we know how good the sticky toffee pudding was from the other time we went to the MPW restraunt. When that arrived it was the same as a school dinner cake and was not even close in taste or presentation to the one we had last time. All in all we still were unable to spend the full 100 voucher and when we explained how upset we were for all the issues we had they just gave us a hot chocolate to leave with. Overall just a really upsetting experience made worse by the fact we have been looking forward to it for the last two weeks as what we expected was a treat we cannot normally afford which is why we asked for a voucher as a present. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend. Surprised something with MPW name on can be able to continue when that's the level offered. Pictures are of the burger which was poor quality as well as the difference in pudding between the sticky toffee we had on first visit London Steakhouse and the one we got this time. Food was lovely no fault with that at all. Onion rings are delicious well worth getting a side order. Service started well George was exceptional problem was once he took our order ended up with 3 other servers took over two hours to get 2 kids starters 1 adult starter. 2 kids mains and 2 adult mains and finally adults gave up wanting a deserts but the kids had a desert each. Service was very slow had to ask 4 times for our side orders to arrive. Finally arrrived when we had all finished our mains. The staff did appologise but damage had been done. Well worth going as the food is good and priced well just give yourself plenty of time as they are slow.
Shame about the rib eye being chewy but it was replaced with much better eating Sirloin. Olga has magical mind reading powers!! She was AWESOME!! Olga is the new Jean Phillipe of Hell's Kitchen!! Atmosphere was a bit gloomy and dark for me.Food: 3/5
