(Update: Unfortunately this and all Maplin branches will shut down in April 2018). Large and comprehensive store for electronics and electrical supplies, including computer accessories, gadgets, disco lighting. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

From my experience, If your looking for things electronic or components, then this is the place to go. As an electronics enthusiast this is the place I would first visit, there's a massive array of electronic components, cables, bread boards and even pre packed kits for your next project. I have spoken to several members of staff over a period of time, on different electronic subjects, and without fail all have provided a solution to my enquiry, even down to electronic formula. I would have no hesitation in recommending this shop. ps if you find this review helpful, please give it a 👍

Maplins is always hit and miss in my experience. I have been to this one a few times and have had different experiences depending on the staff member. Staff are always friendly and try to be useful but sometimes they clearly don't understand your question of recommended something that isn't suitable. Often the questions I ask can be complicated and in some instances I wouldn't expect them to be able to answer and they have. On other visits asking where the SATA cables are has resulted in a confused expression from a staff member. Prices are inflater but you receive the product then rather than waiting a day or two when ordering online.
