A lovely modern unique restaurant, excellence service to the detail. Food menu has a choice of Thai, Chinese, Indian and other selection. We traveled from London on weekends holiday, dining at Maniks definitely made a positive impact on our stay at Bristol.
Waited 2 hours for 1 chicken rogan josh, when it arrived it was just about warm and it was so small, just enough to feed my child! Still hungry after. So disappointed
One of the worst meals. Had friends over so ordered a delivery. One starter short and the chicken and chips where dreadful. The chips were like oven chips but worse and the chicken was totally under cooked. It was raw in the middle and sides after the top later was cut into. We telephoned to complain and they said they would deliver another dish nothing arrived. I said I wanted a refund and hoped my friend wasn’t ill. Dreadful , no apologies nothing. Very disappointed- I will never shop there again.
Ordered 21 February 2021 two chicken chat puri, one king prawn puri starter. , very very disgusting taste I had ever get. One lamb special curry just only gravy, funny taste. Missing Garlic Nan bread. Suggesting people don’t go Maniks , please don’t waste your money I threw all my ordered food in bins Such disgusting food I had today from Maniks
Unfortunately the experience my friends and I had here was very poor. I felt the service was unhelpful and made me feel rather uncomfortable. When we arrived we were not offered drinks or popadoms and had to ask for these, which clearly irritated the waiter who quite frankly looked as if he did not want to be there. Additionally, it was felt by many in our group of 6 that the waiter was looking down his nose at us throughout the meal perhaps because we were a group of guys in our mid to early twenties. However, considering we were not being rude ourselves and are good enough to give this 'restaurant' custom, I feel snobbery is totally unnecessary. The food was very average and mostly cold, therefore I would not recommend. Furthermore, the Gents toilet needs more light in it as it is very dark, I would even suggest it was a health and safety hazard as one is unable to see what they are doing and could lose their footing on the wet floor very easily. As a local, I am unable to recommend this place to anyone and feel it needs to address the areas I have highlighted to vastly improve the quality of its service, food temperature and toilets.
Good food, tasty with a lovely ambiance if a tad on the dark side. Tastefully decorated. Run as a BYOB restaurant and are happy to get any soft drinks you might want! Take away is good too. Really friendly and helpful staff. They have Vegan options too, just talk to them and they know what's suitable. Happily return.... :
Absolutely disgusting!! I've been to this restaurant many times and so was looking forward to spending new years eve there with friends. It was an absolute shambles, the food was inedible, the masala sauce was as runny as water, the korma sauce was the same. We ordered Bombay potatoes and it was just boiled potatoes in a very strange sauce. Nothing had any flavour to it at all. The other diners said the same in fact the couple at the table next to ours had waited 2 hours for their starter, and it was frozen in the middle! We refused to pay the bill, as did most of the other diners. Will not be going there again. It completely ruined my evening as we had to go home and eat!
Very unfriendly and surly waiter. Set the tone for the meal! There was snow on the ground outside but no heating on, so we ate in our coats and scarves, as did the others who were there. Food was bland and unspiced, portion size was good. We were then overcharged, which was corrected, but shouldn't have happened. Very underwhelming. Not worth trying.
Ordered Tiger Tempura Prawn starter and got hard tubes with a prawn piece? As thin as a prong on a fork! No taste! Dish of lettuce. Told the waiter it was horrible as we left half of it. The Thai Red Curry was horrible and unlike Thai Curry we regularly have. The Egg Fried Rice was like eating sawdust very dry and bitty. The King Prawn Madras was good! The lighting was too dark and needs to be a little bit brighter! Went to Chip Shop after and got a bag of chips.
ordered here many times for delivery, the food is always great, went inside for a sit down meal, the food was great as always. However, my pregnant missus ordered an ALCOHOL-FREE cobra, which was room temperature. NOT ACCEPTABLE AT £3.40 A BOTTLE!!!! the best they could do was give ice, which just watered down the beer. upon raising the issue the member of staff told us that "it had come out of the fridge so it was not warm" we had gone in at opening time, so maybe they had just turned the fridge on. No refund, no apology or no alternative was offered. the drink was left and sadly, We will not be returning.
