We had great fun in these woods on the weekend! Although I will fully admit to being unprepared once again . Firstly, I’d had Maitland Woods on my Google list for a while, but it wasn’t until I accidentally drove past the other week that I a realised where it was and, b learned how close we actually live to it I’m very disappointed in myself for not knowing it existed previously! I was also surprised to stumble upon other ‘to-visit’ locations from my list whilst there! For example, Stockend Wood also National Trust literally borders it and Rudge Hill Nature Reserve is on the other side of the road! It is also a skip and hop away from Haresfield Beacon. Definitely worth a visit! Just watch out for the road if you have young children or dogs. We walked through Stockend Wood, across Maitlands Wood and then back up Stockend Lane and found that perfectly manageable with Joseph 3.
