Excellent park with something for everyone here. On our visit walked around the pleasant grounds and had lunch at the cafe at the leisure centre which is great for snack foods, drinks, cakes etc. with indoor & outside seating. The museum has free entry and is highly recommended, with numerous quality displays celebrating British life over the centuries covering artifacts, transport, agriculture, industry, fossils, schools, fashion, household life and much more, plus children's interactive play areas. The walled garden to the rear of the museum is beautiful and again is a must to see to fully appreciate. Tennis courts, bowling green, bandstand, skatepark, outside swimming pool and leisure centre complete what the whole park has to offer. Just amazing!
We visit the park regularly as it is a lovely place to picnic, play and walk. You can stay all day for free up to 12 hours parking. On our most recent visit, yesterday, we spotted a heron and ate our picnic admiring it. We also popped into Museum in the Park for the first time yesterday and were amazed that it was a free donations more than welcome, and b had so many activities for the kids specifically to do. I.e. various trails around the park and the museum itself.
Lovely park and playground. There is a free museum which is quite big and rather impressive for being free in comparison to others that charge. At the museum there is an art gallery and a lovely outside area. The park itself is not huge but great for a few hours and a picnic. The only cafe is at the museum unfortunately along with the toilets but we did not find any other facilities. Parking was free which is a bonus and there were a few other walks going off from here which look great for another day. Well worth the visit. The sensory garden wasn't impressive, there was very little there to consider it a sensory garden especially when comparing to others we have been too. Playground: The small kids playground is fenced the larger one is not. It's not overly impressive but very well spread out and still enough to keep the kids happy. Restrooms: The only toilets we found were at the free museum which is a shame there isnt some by the park. Picnic area: Picnic benches dotted around by the park, could definitely do with more though.
Beautiful grounds to walk through and explore. Lovely lake where we've often seen swans and there's plenty of ducks to feed! There's also a museum that's free to explore as well as playground parks for the children!
Always an enjoyment walking around Stratford Park. This week it has snowed but it was easy enough to walk around.
Enjoyed the walk around the park and the short forest path. Lovely playground for children. Also the lake is very pretty, Took my dogs and they were very happy. There are toilets here and a small cafe by the museum.
Beautiful park with different areas to enjoy. Woodland, parkland etc. Wanted to use cafe, but no proper food in leisure centre, only snacks. No cafe in Museum either, only takeaway drinks etc. Missing a trick, as a proper teashop/cafe would do a roaring trade.
Amazing place got everything. Lots of parking. Large lake with swans ducks etc. Lots of amazing trees. Woodland walk. Waterfall. Even a large tesco across the road if you eat all your picnic too quickly. Richard
A fantastic park with ample free at time of posting parking, play area, woodland, leisure centre with outdoor pool and a wonderful museum of local history again, free to enter with attached beautiful and relaxing walled garden a real gem!
I walk through Stratford every day and it's such a prominent place in my life. Beautiful park with many places to sit. Beautiful woods for a quiet walk though beware the steep hills. Good size field and children's playground. Skate park is always in use. And the leisure centre offers many activities. The museum is also a must atleast once and very pretty to look at.
