Visiting family in the area. Stayed for 1 night bed and breakfast. 1st impression walking up the drive isn't good as you see a run down dated conservatory. The main building is fine. Needs brought into the 21st century. Very friendly staff. Room was fine just needing modernised. Breakfast cooked was good. Did us a turn for the night.

Would not stay again unfortunately, although friendly enough staff.nnRooms were not the cleanest, there was a wedding ongoing so unable to use the bar facilities in the evening when we wanted to relax after our 6 hour journey. By all means host events but not while hindering other guests, you should have a separate function room or offer discounted stays for the other guests with prior notice.nnThen the wedding guests consists of drunk men singing screaming directly outside our window until almost midnight, before listening to them through paper thin walls when they stumbled to their rooms.nnDidn't get much sleep at all and having an early start in the morning I decided to write off the sleep and have a shower, if only. The bathroom is falling apart and the shower is intermittent, so blasts hot, then cold constantly. So I thought ok less try a bath, nope hot water doesnt work. Ok so use the shower to fill the bath, so stood for 45 minutes directing shower head into the bath when hot then quickly into the sink when cold.nnThis place needs to spend some time and money sorting these issues out before charging the £128 a night for a tiny twin room with no facilities. Very disappointing stay, praying the hotels for the rest of the week at least have running hot water and a quiet night sleep

Thank you for the loveliest and one of the most memorable stays for me and my family. I cried upon leaving I travel often and have never done this. There’s something so special about this place / sure, it’s not the fanciest hotel I’ve stayed at, but it feels like home and I can’t put into words but it’s truly left me in tears because I will miss this place dearly.nnThank you for being so wonderful.

We had an amazing wedding here back in July. We had a smaller sized wedding and they were able to accommodate due to their flexibility. We still hadn’t found the right venue by March, but in 3 and a bit months and thanks to Claire- our amazing wedding organiser we made it to the alter on our chosen date !: we were so pleased with the service. We had gone for simple and intimate gathering, but it was made very very special by Claire and rest of the MHH staff. Our guests also commented on how lovely our choice of venue had been. There were a few dietary requirements and they were also very accommodating and the food was top quality. We were given a day we will never forget : - highly recommended!

I recently stayed here and had an amazing experience. The owners and staff are wonderful. We had a few issues arise during the stay and they were as helpful as possible. I had a minor complaint involving the bathtub in my room.  It was addressed and fixed immediately. The breakfast and dinners were outstanding. Great food and value.  Don't be deterred by the appearance of the exterior Conservatory on first arrival.  It needs replacement, but its a time consuming process and the hotel is great. The rooms are a bit dated, in a minor way, but the value, service and experience, in my view, superceed that issue. If I go back to Scotland, I will stay here again. Thank you to the owners and staff!nThe town of Haddington is also lovely. About as charming as it gets.
