Under new management so its a work in progress, nice sized rooms and event spaces. Clean and tidy, perhaps slightly tired and dated in places but new owners are lovely and are in the process of improving the decor. 4 stars now. I'm sure 5 stars when they are done!

Very helpful and polite staff. Breakfast was of a high standard and having had a full Scottish, I found it very tasty with good quality ingredients. Pet friendly. Although the room was slightly tired it was clean, warm and comfortable. Recommended!

Stayed at the maitlandfield house hotel last night . Had a fantastic time, food was excellent a band called Spatz provided first class live music . This hotel has just recently changed hands but still remains a family run business , who are very good hosts and ensure all guests needs are met, a gem of a place.

The staff at the Maitlandfield were very supportive and efficient for the professional event I attended. I have not eaten at the venue, so cannot comment on the food, but would recommend the hotel for anyone organising an event for up to 100-150 people.

Spent the evening with my wife for our wedding anniversary, from arriving we where greeted by such lovely staff and made to feel very special, the meal was beautiful and nice to speak to the chef and compliment his fantastic cooking. It was my first time visiting the hotel and can honestly say that i wont hesitate booking again and telling all my friends its very worthwhile to visit and have a meal.
