We have used this store for many years now from purchasing fish and equipment for our garden pond to now upgrading our small 30ltr cube to a massive Fluval 240ltr aquarium and cabinet. All of the staff we have dealt with have always been friendly and knowledgeable at every visit but special thanks and praise must go to Darren for his recent help, patience and sharing of his knowledge whilst we purchased and set up our new tank. It looks awesome and we can't wait to fill it with fish when the water ecosystem is ready.. We will be back of course to Maidenhead at Whisby to source the fish and all they need to keep healthy...
After keeping freshwater fish a number of years ago, we recently took the plunge to establish a tropical fish aquarium for our whole family's enjoyment, including our children. What more can we say about Darren at this store? In a world where customer service is sometimes lost, Darren has been a monumental help for us, showing patience and applying no pressure to buy throughout. He has talked us through options for our tank and shown us options for populating the aquarium over the next few weeks. Darren is knowledgeable, friendly and has really looked after us. This has helped make our early experience enjoyable and we can't wait to see how our aquarium develops. Thank you so much to Darren and the team for making our buying experience fantastic. Highly recommended this store to beginners and experts alike.
This particular store doesn't have any marine fish, so don't expect to be able to buy the clown fish from the logo. However the freshwater fish look well cared for, they have a really wide selection of tanks as well as lots of accessories. All the staff I have spoken to here are very knowledgeable and friendly
Visited today just to enquire about buying a small fish tank for my daughter. We were looked after by Darren who was very knowledgeable and helpful with his advice. We were so impressed by the helpfulness and overall service that we decided to buy a tank and accessories there and then. Overall it was a refreshing change to be looked after so well, without any pressure to make a purchase. Looking forward to returning to buy some fish when the tanks ready.
Brought a fluval shaker 168 today and was looked after by Rob through the whole process. He was so helpful from start to finish from getting the tank within 24hrs to offering advice on set up etc..... Can't recommend both Rob and Maidenhead Aquatics in Lincoln enough.
They are very helpful and it was alovely place not as many fish as I thought but still had a good assortment but no saltwater fish
Good knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help. I avoid times when thers are likely to be lots of children as it becomes difficult to see what you want.
Been to this place hundreds of times over the years. Staff are fantastic. Very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Good variety of tropical and pond fish and also very reasonable prices
Iv been going in for a few weeks now and have got to know one member of staff really well, Darren went above and beyond form the first time we met, Iv gone back and dealt with him again. This time to get some koi carp for my pond, Again he went above and beyond to help us not only get the ones we wanted but also to show us what other had in ways of marking’s, scales ect We went in for 6 and came out with 9!! He’s a very good salesman know what he’s talking about. He’s must be a very Cherished member of staff a fantastic assent to the business itself. I will definitely be back to see him again. Please go see him, you will thank me, if the big bosses reed the reviews please give this your man the Credit he truly deserves. It’s member of staff like Darren that keep the Business booming and bring back customers time and time again.
Bittersweet really, came in this morning with an unusual predicament of having to return a fish. Kevin, the “old” customer assistant immediately decided the best course of action was to tell me off for coming in unannounced with said fish. Fair enough, I could have phoned through but you’d have thought an aquatic centre would have a quarantine tank set up for such occasion. Apparently not. Kevin’s approach to this predicament was to be condescending and aggressive to me, pointing out that it’s my fault the fish was in bad health. I’ve returned from a military tour of the Falklands for four months and had somebody look after the fish tank for me; unfortunately something went wrong with this and the fish didn’t get the best care over this period. The kindest thing to do was drive 25 minutes across Lincoln to return it to people who can provide it a better chance of survival than I could under the circumstances, you know; “aquatic specialists”. Kevin didn’t see this point, he just thought that I was pushing my luck even though I wanted nothing in return for the fish! Kevin made a point of telling me “it’s people like me that made him step down from being a manager”. I would suggest that’s a good move as my prior experience in retail work pre RAF taught me that in when dealing with customers, do everything that Kevin DIDN’T manage this morning. I don’t take well to being spoken to like Kevin did, hence the low star review. Kevin thought I was being difficult because of his older age for some reason? Still haven’t figured out his logic there. Kevin stormed off and proceeded to rant within earshot AND eyesight of me to the female staff member. BAD move, again. Now, the other chap on shift with Kevin didn’t get your name, sorry mate was ace, he phoned the manager and gave me a solution, fish saved, nobody hurt. Well done that man. FAO Kevin’s manager, have a word with Kevin about how his actions and words have consequences; in that, I won’t be returning and I’ve taken my time to leave my first ever google review about how bad that bloke is at his job. It seems I’m not the first on here to have said so either. Maybe front of house work isn’t his forté. Anyway, thanks for taking the fish in and giving it another chance. And Kevin, I suggest you stop drinking from the tanks.
