What can I say. Well.. This lovely Thai restaurant is amazing. Awesome food, huge portions, awesome service. Just an all round lovely atmosphere which leads to having and authentic Thai experience.
A local restaurant with friendly serving staff and lovely food. Don't let the decor fool you. The food is authentic and the even though there is still Christmas tinsel on the wall hangings in June, they do have a feel of true Thai hospitality. Also on the plus side, the place is very clean *which satisfies my neat freak partner
3/5 an average Thai restaurant, have been there twice in the last 12 months. Decor straight out of the 1990s, needs updating. Service was quick on both occasions, friendly and attentive. Food is average, bland and lacking in fresh ingredients. All dishes tasted like these were reheated. Probably why the service was quick! Underwhelming Pad Thai, and sweet and sour chicken...lacking in flavour and fresh ingredients. Given the great location and lack of Thai competition in Beckenham, the place could be so much better.
Usually dine in, but it tonight is take away. Dine in is always attentive and quick. A leisurely meal is not on the menu as there is not much of a gap between items, but you Can't fault speed. Takeaway was a 39 minute wait .... so call ahead on a Friday. Now the food..... well I love Thai and the food here has always delighted me. 4 years on and I'm still coming. Go on.... try Thai.
The food was pretty basic, nice enough area but there was a problem with the food far too satly and when asked to speak to the manager I heard a Asian waiter mutter obscenity's under his breath. The manager refused to hear the complaint and we was left with our dissatisfied meal. The only good thing was the young lady who served us who explained that this is normally how they manage their business - I'm astounded that they have a loyal following at all.
Was very excited to have Mae Ping on Mothers day but must say I was very disappointed. The restaurant looks nice with lovely decor so you do feel good walking in. The waiters are all rushed and look so confused. They seem to be understaffed on shop front, and they don't seem to know simple things like 'What's in a Singapore noodle', and it seems like you need to tell them when you want to order, rather than them asking you. Food wise I was very disappointed. I was restricted to the Sunday £15 eat whatever dishes on the menu options, which didn't have everything I wanted The starters were okay at best but the mains really disappointed me. The green thai curry was basically boiled chicken in gravy. The sweet and sour prawns had 3 prawns in it - seriously!? The best was the noddles. Overall, pretty much a let down so doubt I'll be going back!
This is not 'Cheap Dining', so for me personally, I think I expected more. The Restaurant was anything but 'Heaving' and somehow you got the impression that we were encroaching on their time! Whilst attentive, the staff were regimental, with a 'Cold' attitude. The Toilets were not obvious and downstairs next to the kitchen, which didn't inspire you with confidence regarding what you were eating!
Went with a few friends and was very disappointed. Staff were friendly enough but rushing around not sure why as the was only a dozen or so customers. Food was not at all authentic in fact I have had better microwave Thai food. Very over priced as well. There are far better Thai restaurants around so I'd be wise and look elsewhere.
We've been customers for some years now and during this time the menu has evolved with lots of interesting dishes but our favourites have always been the hors d'oeuvres and the Chiang Mai red curry. Last time we came was a busy Friday night but the service was excellent.
Don't waste your special day. I went there with my parents and wife. My 2 years daughter was in playing mood and she grab flower from the pot and manager came out of bar area and took that flower from 2 yers girl hand and placed that into other table. How roude. Spent £110 pounds and for totally disaster curry with salty food. And if you complain watch their face they don't even apologise.
