Bought a 2009 corsa in December 2021. Car had to be jump started to test drive and I was assured this was due to the cold weather and the fact the car hadn't been driven for a while. Around 1 month after I bought the car it broke down and was extremely expensive to repair as they had sold me a car with a damaged ECU its around £700 for a new ECU which meant the car would intermittently start up which is why it needed a jump start before the test drive. When I took the car for a diagnostic to find out that the whole ECU needed replaced I also found that the right shock absorber was not connected to the main chassis at all making the car very unstable when driving on motorways. I genuinely wonder how genuinely the MOT on the car was. Would never ever recommend this place to buy a car and if you do make sure you get a reliable mechanic to thoroughly check the car over.
Well I went over today to look at and buy a vectra estate from this company. Looked the car over. Didn't look to bad. Asked if I could put a computer onto it op-com vauxhall diagnostic device guy told me no one has ever asked for that. Which might be true. So asked again if I could do it just to check if there's any fault codes. The guy couldn't get the key out the car quick enough and told me no. They have checked it over and the car is good. So why not let me. Defo must have something to hide. Not recommended as a car dealer. Stay away from here. This place has a couple of bad reviews where doesn't. But now I can believe the reviews. Stay well clear of this company. Thanks for wasting my time
The MH garage/family, father, mother and sons, have been very welcoming, helpful and reliable to me over the past 10 years. I always go to their garage for repairs and they charge less than other garages. I trust them and will buy my next car from them. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a good garage.
First of all, friendly service from start to finish, bought my first car off them a couple of months back for my dad, went in asked for a car for him because my dads car at the time was at the end of its life, i got told a ideal car coming in a few days time. sure enough got a phone call that day and got told to come in to see it. Got tea and biscuits and swiss roll while we sorted paper work and spoke to them for a bit and seemed 2 have all the time in the world for me to make sure i was happy with everything. Bought the car and had it checked over the week after and could not b more over the moon with the wee used honda. I drove the car to leeds a few weeks ago with me and my dad and loaded and the car never missed a beat, no problems at all. After a few days of coming back from leeds i was that happy with the wee honda, i bought a wee peugeot from them for my daughter and didnt have any problems with anything i couldnt find a cheaper car from anywhere in the country but again i bought it because i never had a problem with the first car and i had it checked over by someone else and i was shocked that they must have put all new brakes including pads and discs and calipers handbrake cables shoes, all the brake pipes and 2 brand new wishbones on the car before i purchased the car so they must have spent a good couple of quid on it before i got the car.... All in all the 2 cars ive bought off them and seeing that no expence could have been spared i would definitely recommend these guys to anyone, and if your looking for anything in particular ask them if they have it and if not they will do thier best to help you no matter what also i will be back for work because they know what theyre doing when theyre talking about cars, and it shows when they been in business as long as i can remember they must be good at selling used cars Thank you M.H Car Sales
My sons bought a car from this garage 2 weeks ago. My son test drove the car and highlighted the high clutch pedal but was assured the car was thoroughly checked over and that a high clutch pedal is normal for Citroen Cars.. The car lost power on the motorway yesterday was unable to go above 40mph due to clutch failure.. In addition there is a loud knock from one of the wheels.. The steering wheel squeaks meaning a possible power steering fluid leak and the glove box was glued shut. He paid £1560 which included a warranty he is unable to use for repairs. The garage responded by offering to take another £200 to repair the clutch. If anyone else has bought a second hand car from this garage not fit for purpose I would refer them to this information but please avoid this company. Being without a car is very costly. Rejecting a second-hand car If you bought the car any time after 1 October 2015, you have only 30 days to reject it and get a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act. If you reject a second-hand car bought in the UK, you must stop using it immediately. Second-hand car from a dealer When you buy a second-hand car from a used-car dealership in the UK, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act which replaced the Sale of Goods Act from 1 October 2015. You should expect the car to: be of satisfactory quality taking into account its age and mileage meet any description given to you when you were buying it whether in the ad or in discussions prior to sale be fit for purpose in this case, to get you from A to B safely. It's important that you take into account the mileage, age and how the car is described to you. If the second-hand car does not meet these requirements, you have the right to claim against the used-car dealer for breach of contract. You should make contact with the dealer as soon as possible, and can follow our step-by-step tips on how to complain about a second-hand car not fit for purpose. If something you buy is not as described, or the seller is guilty of misrepresentation, you're entitled to: give the second-hand car back and get your money back ask for compensation if you want to keep the car usually the cost of any repairs it needs. Bought with a credit card If you bought your car with a credit card, you can also claim against the credit company under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Update, CC company asked for full check and diagnostic. Engine is full of Redex to hide leaks. There is no coolant in engine due to leaks, Head gasket had failed, clutch had failed, steering is faulty COST TO REPAIR £2200. This car has been sold in a very dangerous condition and the salespeople treat customers with the most utter contempt possible. I will upload their reply to our complaint but do not buy from this company they have absolutely no regard for keeping your family safe. I will copy all documents to Trading Standards and ensure everyone is aware of how dangerous this company are
Friendly and helpful guys, but that's not good enough; had a suspension and ABS issue after I took the car home, and they fixed it to some extent but not properly. The car needed a LOT more work straight after buying though, and I suspect they buy cheap at auction and sell it on with an MOT from a mate's garage. Not very professional really. Buy, but buy with caution.
Bought several cars from them over the years and have personally found them very helpful and reliable. I have recommended them to many of my friends and will use them again when I next need to purchase a car. Five stars for these guys.
Being a girl car buying can be a daunting experience. Choose a vehicle from them absolutely love it . They help with any issues i come across and help me keep the car in tip top condition. Absolutely 5 star treatment . Would highly recommend !!
The family run sales centre is brilliant. The experience doesn't just end when you buy the car. They were a great help with myself. And still very helpful now. Seriously take a look at the deals. Really reliable too
Everything I want and need from a garage. Solid reliable cars AND excellent after sales service. How do I know? 15 years I've been there. 4 cars I've had. Now this is number 5. I bought 2 cars from other garages before, but now I will keep coming to MH.
