Affordable AND organic. We had a home-made falafel platter, butternut squash risotto and potato cakes, all beautifully presented and delicious. This is a cafe with it's ethics proudly stated on the wall - they use mostly organic produce and everything's freshly made on site. The majority of the dishes on the menu are vegetarian with a couple of meat options. In the light airy surroundings of Lumen URC Church, this is a great spot for lunch!
This place has very quickly became one of my favourite café’s in London. The combination of very unusual architecture with reasonably priced great quality organic food and drinks is hard to fault. Welcoming and friendly staff is always happy to help. The atmosphere is generally very welcoming and relaxing, and I also like to chill inside the “Ray of Light”, which is a very unusual construction in its design – it’s like a ray of light coming through the sky, and it is fascinating to stare into the sky through the round roof window of this construction when you are inside. It’s hard to describe it, but I would recommend you to come and experience it for yourself :-
The Lumen centre provides rooms and facilities for meetings and teaching. The rooms are bright, airy and well equipped. However there was no reception area for enquiries or to sign post people to the correct room and the cafe was not open for purchases.
Best ever vegetarian breakfast I've had!
