"On the edge of Covent Garden, London’s premier Belgian café oozes continental charm, serving an unrivalled range of Belgian & Dutch beers alongside a modern European menu. Famous for its moules & food & beer pairings."
The Lowlander Grand Café is an excellent Belgian pub. There are a lot of Belgian beers on draft and in bottles that are excellent. The food we ate is also excellent, as is the service, which is at a high level. The atmosphere is great, especially in the evening. We have been to this restaurant several times, and every time we were delighted. Vedrana was especially smiling and professional, recommending food and beer to go with that dish.
My advice is just come here for beer, not food!!!! Ordered a burger and mussel. Burger was fine, but the signature mussel was disgusting. The broth was so salty and half of my mussels were sandy, it was revolting. Worst mussel dish I have eaten in my life. Another thing is they charge 12.5% service, which I dun mind paying, but simply no services were offered. The host who lead us the table was nice, but the waitress who serve us was rude. And for 12.5% service charge, no water was offered, no one check on our meal and not even a simple "thank you" after paying the bill. No offence, but no wonder the restaurant was empty.
Great spot for lunch. The steak sandwich and German hotdog photo were excellent. The place had a great lively atmosphere and the staff were lovely and attentive. Good selection of beers & ales too which was a nice surprise. Oh and it's dog friendly too :Food: 5/5
I have known this place for more than 10 years. Their beers are as good as I remember them. They have a small selection of gluten-free beers. The food was good too. Dietary restrictions: Limited gluten-free options.
Very nice Belgian style Cafe near Covent Gardens, with proper selection of beers. Pleasant ambiance, the place is popular and gets crowded, we reserved for mid afternoon and had no problem. Our moules were tasty and well prepared, and the Belgian Chocolate cheesecake was delicious. The bill for two was £75. It was enjoyable, we will go back.
Generally good. Great food, great drinks. The price of beer is a little bit higher compared to other German or Belgium pub but still acceptableFood: 5/5
Amazing Belgium beers. Food was good and the staff were very helpful. Going back to try different beers.Food: 5/5
Just stopped by for a nightcap before heading in for the night. They have a great selection of brews, and prices were not bad at all. There server was friendly and prompt as well. I saw a lot of people eating, and everything looked first class. I am a bit sad we ate just beforehand, or we could have eaten here as well. Maybe next trip.
Watched the England game with 4 friends. Service was exceptional, we were made to feel very welcome. Food & beer selection was great.Food: 5/5
