Absolutely fantastic our first time visiting here. The food was absolutely amazing hats off to the kitchen staff and the lady who served us I believe her name was Lisa was Perfect at her job, greeted us with a beautiful big smile and helped with everything we wanted. Next time we're having the carvery, that looked the best ever
Nice pub. Easy to find and park the car. Good few car parking spaces Nice inside. Carpet is a bit old school, but works. Some outside place’s and space to sit and some stuff for kids. Always had plenty of places to sit when iv been to have food. Food has always been nice and warm & Tasty. Can order from the table. What is a good bonus. Staff have always come across as friendly people.
We stopped off here for some dinner and to watch the England game. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was great. Well worth a visit
Went on spec here this afternoon/early evening as a friend told us how good the carvery was. Although we needed to book ideally the extremely friendly staff sqeezed us in. Booked two carvery's and was not dissapointed. The beef cooked to perfection and the vegtables were spot on. This was the first csrvery we had had since lockdown and was absolutely amazing. Would thoroughly recommend a visit, you will not be dissappointed. Well done all, will be back very soon
Lovely place after a recent refurb. Warm and inviting. Food great and staff very attentive.
The Lord Ted has climbed and fallen in quality over the years. Unfortunately it's back to being rather poor. The carvery is alright and I think the carvery chef is doing his best with what he has. As for everything else, I'm really disappointed. The Mac & Cheese was revolting, I couldn't even eat it and I love the stuff. The wings were watery and cheap, definitely deep fried from frozen. I wouldn't have served up my partners meal. They've clearly dropped the portion size in the last year or so. Her food looked stupid, spread across a massive plate, it would have looked small on a normal sized plate. As a former head chef and restaurant manager I feel like these things could be addressed. I sympathize that it hasn't been the easiest time for places like the Lord Ted. But I have to be honest because I feel I wish I'd have seen this review so I didn't spend my money there. I hope that I hear good things in the future and I'd come back because the staff are nice people and do their best. Whoever is in charge of the menu and resourcing needs to have a sit down and think it over. Get 10 things on your menu and make them nice. It goes further than 25 bad choices.
Went to Lord Ted with four others when it restarted serving meals and we were all impressed. The meal itself was excellent..we all used the Carvery...and the choice of both the meats and vegetables was good, everything being well cooked and well presented. The staff were super and efficient and went a long way to make our evening an enjoyable one. Would recommend a visit.
Went for food yesterday. It came really quickly and was delicious. Second time I have been back since they had a refurbishment in November. They also accept blue light cards so thank you. Had to give 4 stars as the last time I visited the drinks never arrived and food took a very long time. They was not busy but maybe just having a bad day. This is why I decided to visit again which I’m very glad I did.
Came for lunch on a busy Friday, 7 adults and 3 young kids with a last minute booking. Staff were fantastic, very accommodating in finding us a large table out of the way, very friendly and super patient with the kids. Just the kind of food you’d expect from a chain pub, but well done and with a nice carvery. Great spot in Newark for a family lunch. Big car park and a play area outdoors.
Went there for lunch today 17th Jan, and was very pleased with everything, had the mini grill and the portion size was more than generous, was cooked to a high standard, not one to leave food I did just manage to leave a clean plate. My compliments to the manager and his staff for a very well presented meal. Was worth the 23 mile drive. Many thanks "I'LL BE BACK"
