Used to be my favourite Chinese restaurant when I go to Birmingham for conference,when I visited yesterday and ordered roast pork with vegetables, it such a disappointment the pork was old and the rice had gone off when I reached London the container has been drenched because they just put all the chili sauce in like it's food for a pig. Today I ordered my use to be favourite beef noodles soup however they forgot to give me the clear soup broth and I specifically said I no longer wanted the charsui pork bec of yesterday it didn't taste nice and yet today when I ordered the 4 roast meat I only got the three variety and was charged for four altogether I was charged £28.50. I have taken my friends there once because I kept on telling them how good and authentic the food was and how it reminded me of my dad when he use to take me to the Chinese restaurant back home, however after today I am never coming back.it no longer is as nice as it used to be but rather a disappointment.also the lady that served me today was very grumpy and unapproachable, I may not speak Chinese fluently anymore having lived in the UK for so long but that doesn't mean that you won't offer a good service just because of that grounds. I won't recommend this place to anyone anymore! Awful
Needed a hit of Cantonese comfort food, Look In didn't disappoint: had a hearty bowl of wonton noodles in soup, menu item 138. The dish was delicious, the wontons were large and plentiful, the soup well-balanced, flavourful without being salty. The complimentary cup of hot tea was nice. Note that this place only accepts cash for payment.
It is located inside China Town of Birmingham City. It takes 5 minutes to walk from Birmingham New Street Railway Station to this restaurant. The location is very convenient and easy to find. It is a small shop with only a few tables, so there are always lots of people waiting inside or outside the restaurant. Food quality is good at a reasonable price. The staff are also nice and helpful. Highly recommend taking a fast lunch and trying authentic Chinese roasted food
Friendly casual eatery in the heart of Chinatown. Pleasant service and bustling atmosphere. The menu is all great but I particularly recommend the roast meats and rice, which the place is well known for. Don’t expect anything fancy but for a quick lunch and dinner, the place is great.
Stopped by Birmingham and found this gem! It’s a shame the duck was already sold out, but we were impressed with the char siu and soya chicken with rice + won ton noodle soup. The hot milk tea also tasted authentic. We will be back again!Food: 5/5
Dry Fried beef ho fun does not have enough flavor and very oily, ho fun is not fresh. Pickled vegetables and shredded duck with noodles is very very salty. Wan ton is not tender enough. Poor service, they are only nice to westerners, they didn’t provide the spicy oil even I have asked three times.
Quick and cheerful meal. Soy chicken and duck were delicious but I do wish the chicken was hot and not cold. Make sure to bring cash.Food: 4/5
The portion is good size, the smell was absolutely amazing, taste fantastic, the roast pork skin was crispy, char Sui was soft with little fat, the soya sauce chicken taste so soft not tough at all. The soup was delicious don’t taste any MSG. Staff waitress was friendly. Will definitely come back again.Recommended dishesRoast Duck and Char Siu Rice, Soup, Roast
Really good Chinese restaurant. Best one I’ve been to in the UK. Quick attentive service, good pricing and food was just incredible. Lots of options too.Food: 5/5
A fantastic no frills Chinese eatery. The restaurant is nearly always crowded and offers nothing in the way of ambiance, allowing their excellent food and generous serving sizes to take centre stage. Three visits and half a dozen different dishes and we are yet to be disappointed. Looking forward to going back and trying all that their menu has to offer..
