An absolute gem. Found this place by accident and booked in for a night, we ended up staying 3. It's not 5 it's actually better, it's clean, comfortable and the price isn't extortionate either. All staff were helpful and the landlord Barry was brilliant to. Don't change anything Barry , it's perfect the way it is. Not sure if we'll get a chance to come back again but I hope we do. Regards to all Your irish visitors
Had two rooms for one night stay whilst in the area. Two of us stopped in the family room, Overall great room and service. Barry was excellent, food was good and so was the beer.Rooms: 5/5
This is a fantastic place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are great and so was the food. It must be fabulous in summer. Thank you for looking after us.
We had such a great stay here. The family room was immaculate and laid out really well and the breakfast was excellent too. We'll definitely return again when we're in the area.
Stayed for one night the gent who owns it is polite and chatty, great feel to the pub and rooms were cosy and warm. Arrived late and he decided to cook for us all.
we were there for 2 nights, we arrived a bit late but Barry the landlord was kind enough to cook us a meal. They also gave us recommendations on where to visit around the Norfolk area. Barry is very easy going and is the welcoming face of the Whitehorse - Friendly, helpful staff and Barry the landlord - Large car park - Nice quiet location, easy drive to Norwich and Norfolk Coast - Comfortable bed and clean tidy room - Nice full english breakfast
Lovely staff & landlord. Great ales. We were made to feel very welcome. We stayed over night in the car park in our motorhome very quiet. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try out the food.would definitely recommend.
We had high hopes given the recent reviews of this newly renovated and managed community owned pub but we were quite disappointed with the food. I had the sharing seafood platter with squid rings, whitebait and crayfish. And a side order of skinny fries. Firstly it all arrived only just lukewarm and there wasn't a lot of it so if two people had been 'sharing' it they would have gone home hungry. The bowl with the squid rings in it was packed with salad so there were only 7 small squid rings on top. The small dollop of crayfish on a baby gem lettuce leaf were tiny and the whitebait were massive. My entire meal far from being 'fresh and local' including the fries had come out of Brakes bags from the freezer. I left more than half of it as it went cold so quickly. My sister ordered the calves liver, a massive piece swimming under claggy gravy and sat on top of a huge dollop of sweet potato mash. My sister hates sweet potato. The menu said 'garlic' mash. When we we queried it, the waitress came back to tell us it was white mash just with a dash of paprika. And that really did feel patronising because the bright orange mash with big orange chunks in it, was sweet potato. Paprika has a tendency to turn food pink or red. My sister had the rice pudding arancini which she declared a hit, and the dry rose I drank was excellent. The waiting staff were also very friendly and helpful. This is such a gorgeous looking pub, in such a great setting on the old village green. But we both left saying ah well with a sigh and went home and made some sandwiches an hour later.
Had a lovely stay at the Whitehorse hotel large flat car park . Barry the landlord and lesley was very welcoming . Craft beer on the bar good selection of drinks food available would highly recommend beautiful village
Absolutely wonderful stay with our two young children. Clean, welcoming, friendly, comfortable with one of the best b&b breakfasts we’ve had. And a short drive from Roarr! Dinosaur Park for the perfect day out with the kids. Thank you.
