I made an online booking on 15th Sep 2015 for a pre theatre dinner & show on 7th Oct 2015 for 6 people with the this company who I have used on several occasions before. I considered the restaurant very carefully regarding location & menu as my husband is 2 months post operative for heart surgery & cannot walk at great speed or distance yet. As I was driving into London for our evening out on 7th Oct I received a phone call to say that our chosen restaurant Sway had cancelled our booking. I was given an alternative with the information that it was only a 10 minute walk away. At this late stage I was unable to look on the internet to check the menu/distance etc & as we had already paid I had no alternative than to accept the alternative Ruby Blue Leicester Square. We had already booked & paid for a car park using the location of the other restaurant so then had to make our way to Leicester Square. It was certainly not a 10 minute stroll as we had been lead to believe. With the pavements & roads packed with people it took us 20 minutes to get to the restaurant.They kindly let us sit down 10 minutes earlier than our booking as we needed to get ordered as we only had 50 minutes to be able to turn around & get back to the theatre. Ruby Blue had obviously taken on a lot of other bookings from Sway as with only 2 waitresses it soon turned into chaos. We waited for over 15 minutes to find someone to even ask for our bill ! we had to split up so that the slower walkers could go ahead as we were running out of time to get back to the theatre. We still didn't get a bill but left the origional Sway meal voucher along with enough cash to cover our drinks & just had to hope that no one came along & took the cash. The meal was good but the circumstances surrounding it totally ruined our evening. I had very carefully planned the location, car park distances etc as that was essential to a nice evening out to celebrate my husband's recovery. I was really disappointed that The London Theatre Store via Encore tickets & Sway would consider it acceptable to cancel a booking at such short notice with the response that "you were offered an alternative" The only genuine apology & offer of another meal as compensation has been from Ruby Blue, who to be honest didn't cause the problem & just tried their best to cope with unfortunate circumstances. We were all looking forward to this evening & it was totally ruined by the poor business practice of Sway & The London Theatre Store via Encore tickets.
