Absolutely beautiful place, very calm and large. It's so nice to take a walk through whilst hearing the bird song and taking in the all the greenery. Well maintained except from the very old graves as they're left to be overgrown. I can see myself visiting many many times even if just to enjoy the mindfulness
Lovely peaceful place ... you can come reflect and chat with your loved ones... Clean and good security... toilets clean and the staff are helpful too. Big car park... lots of room for loved ones to attend funeral or just come for visits.
Pastor Clarke held a cremation service for a friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. He succeeded in celebrating her life and at the same time conducting a respectful rite. The funeral directors were Mortons from Northfield who also did a very professional task including arranging and providing a room for the friends and relatives to meet and reminisce after the service. Special thanks to Mr Mike Bennett who helped us with the whole organisation.
Came down this morning for a visit to my aunties grave and the Cemetery was closed due to the COVID19 virus. It doesn't mention this on the website. Why is it closed? It doesn't get that busy in there anyway. Shame on you.
Lovely place R.I.P ADAM WILLIAM GEORGE
Beautiful place. My brother's funeral was held here last week & they really did an exceptional service. Absolutely beautiful. Could not have wished for a nicer send off for him.
My Mum was cremated here on 24th January. The funeral Directors have been trying to get through to them for over a week now to arrange a date for her internment and they are not picking up the phone or answering emails. I also had occasion to try and get them to answer a question but they have not opened their office and because I had no choice had to knock on the office window RUDE staff came outside and said the office is closed but reluctantly did answer my question. I don't think its very well kept cemetery compared to the 2 that's around here i.e. Rowley Regis and Quinton both of these look well maintained and clean where as lodge hill looks unkempt and unloved, if my mum wasn't to be interned in with her mum and dad I would definitely have gone elsewhere so disappointed.
Been here a couple of times now for a cremation, lovely large place, visit occasionally the garden of remembrance for family members who had ashes scattered. Complaints in some of the reviews are unfair, why not do some voluntary work to help keep the place in check.
This crematorium was obviously built a long time ago. It's in a nice setting. The chapel itself has a lovely atmosphere although the pews are very hard to sit on and some cushions would be appreciated. What lets the whole place down are the disgusting toilets and the pathetic offer of a cold bleak waiting room! When the taxi pulled up outside it my heart sank. The only soap in the very outdated toilets was a small cracked dirty bar both gents and disabled were the same. The waiting room was grubby with a tatty notice board covered in drawing pins and ragged pieces of paper. A lot of blue plastic flowers did not cheer the place up but made it feel even colder. The water bottle was half-full of murky water and there were no cups provided. The heating was almost non-existent on a cold day in December. It was worse than a spartan bus station. When you have travelled a long way from another county to attend a friends funeral this place just adds to your grief. As an older person I've been to many crematoria recently and this is the worst. Bournemouth, Loughborough, Cambridge and Kilburn London all give a much warmer welcome than this awful place. Selly Oak should go and visit them and try to improve their facilities.
Brilliant cemetery very quiet
