Have been here a few times now and I love it. Outside of the jail cell rooms and prison feeling I genuinely think they serve some of the best beer in town. They have great options including German wheat beers and I find it fairly priced given it's location. Will drop in anytime I'm in the area as it's always a good atmosphere too.
Very interesting and unusual pub. Has a number of "booths" set in the old cells, either side of a central corridor. Very good service and a nice range of beers.Service: 5/5
Great and interesting place to visit and have a drink, we never had food here so couldn’t comment but would definitely return. The people running the place were extremely pleasant. Excellent!!Service: 5/5
Some friends who are local to the area introduced us to the Bridewell on a recent trip to Liverpool - what a fantastic place this is!! There’s a lovely sheltered and sometimes sunny courtyard, and lots of query nooks and crannies to explore in what used to be a police station. We loved how the old custody cells have been made into individual rooms with brick vaulted ceilings and tiny windows high on the walls. There’s even an iron ring set in the wall for misbehaving prisoners. We were here for drinks, but takeaway food can be ordered from the Italian restaurant just over the road. A great venue with happy and obliging staff - we loved it here!
What a cracking pub this is in an old police station. The cells have been turned into drinking pods for a more intimate drink for smaller groups. We sat out in the courtyard as it was a pleasant evening. Very nice place to enjoy a pint of Guinness. 5/5 stars from me.
This is really a good pub. Used to be the old Bridewell jail. Individual cells for drinking in and one of the best selections of real ales in the city. Service is superb, a waiter comes around asking if you need more beer. It saves you going to the bar.Service: 5/5
A fantastic little place. The staff are top class, always there with a smile and even bring your drinks over if ye like. Atmospheric place too. But for me, the pièce de résistance is the superb Guinness, the best in Lpool for me Service: 5/5
Staff are unreal. Superbly friendly and incredibly friendly. Had a party in there and it was perfect. Can't thank the team there enough.Food: 5/5
We have loved the Bridewell for many years as we love the atmosphere, beers and service, everyone is so friendly and the vibe of the Bridewell is unmatched. We love it so much here we booked the function room for our February wedding and honestly can’t say enough about how amazing the night was, Luke helped us organise everything including how the room was set up and gave us reccomendations for the food which was a lovely buffet and a singer Ali Horn who was also exceptional and was so friendly throughout, everyone keeps commenting on how much fun they had and how much they enjoyed the beers and the atmosphere and we just can’t recommend it enough!
Really enjoyed my first visit here and will be sure to return. Great service and a decent range of beers to choose from while sitting back in a former Police lock up that still has the original exposed brickwork and cell doors. It was also nice to enjoy being served at our table.Service: 5/5
