Plentiful parking right outside, easy accessibility for all and help on hand if needed. Clean toilets and lovely environment throughout. The staff and volunteers are so friendly and helpful. We had a lovely morning, lunch and a couple of drinks too in the lovely cafe. So many beautiful areas to explore and lots of information on hand. Cannot recommend this place enough for a bit of culture in your life. We will defo be back.
Absolutely stunning! Liverpool Cathedral may not be ancient, but it’s one of the largest in the UK and completely free to visit. It is an unmissable and truly iconic landmark when visiting Liverpool.nnThe towering exterior is breathtaking, and once you step inside, the soaring ceilings and long central nave create an incredible sense of space and grandeur. When sunlight shines through the beautiful stained glass windows, the whole place feels sacred and peaceful. A perfect spot to pause, reflect, and admire truly magnificent architecture, well worth spending some time to explore.
Beautiful Cathedral with wonderfull staff and a fabulous cafe too.nnEasy walk from the station and breathtaking when it comes into view.nnWorth paying the small fee to go up the tower, if the weather is clear, as the views are incredible.nnHad a grand chat with Mike, who was helpful, knowledgeable and kind.nnEasy 5 Stars
We visited the Cathedral twice. Once to do a full tour of the ground floor and the next morning to do a tower tour which entailed 2 lifts finishing with 108 steps not spiral, ending with panoramic views of the City. Both we enjoyed immensely. Both times we ate in the Cathedral bistro which served everything from the traditional 'scouse' to delicious home made cakes.
Free to enter, online guides availablenEither use their app, or Bloomberg Connects, or a family tour. But there are useful signs dotted around. Or book a guided walking tour.n£8 gets you up to the top of the tower. Two lifts and 108 steps. All very safe, bit not for wheelchairs.nnThis is an enormous building made of brick, stone, steel and concrete. Unadorned in it's beautiful state. It can make you feel humble or elated, but it is awe inspiring.nnPleasant staff, and working ministers.nnNice cafe, several toilets.nnDon't forget the necropolis outside, which is housed in the old quarry. Over 60,000 people buried there after the stone was excavated to build the city.nnThere is parking onsite or cheaper nearby.
