It's been a couple of years but because I dared not go back to Duckworth Lane Mother Hubbard's after my 30 minute wait last time I thought I'd try Lister Fisheries again after a couple of years. At £9.50 they weren't much cheaper than MH and on first inspection they did exactly what put me off about them in the 1st place. Small fish and a large portion of chips to make it look like value for money. Food itself was good. Though the fish appeared to have been over cooked it was actually still meaty and 'slimy'. The batter has the nice 'old school' taste that MH just can't replicate and the chips were a league ahead of those dry potatoes MH churn out. Not VFM considering the size of the fish but a better tasting product than the usual Mother Hubbard's. I'd dare not try their curry sauce or mushy peas though.

Ordered fish n chips got dried out shrinked fish in a lot of batter was very dissatisfied also chicken on naan had way too salt in it not sure what happened there wasn’t able to eat it at all, first and last time will be dining from here , lister fisheries you have just lost a customer well done also the elder man puts blame on the other workers and doesn’t acknowledge his mistake very disappointed but lesson learnt from this experience will be dining where customers are valued . bye bye .

I was disgusted at their service and food quality to say the least. I went into store ordered 3 Fish & Chips. The lad placed 3 portions of appalling small fish with batter covering it so much to disguise the size of it, which was not even enough for my daughter. I called on the phone to speak to the manager who shamefully did not apologize, and placed the blame on another staff member. He told me if I didn't like the food to leave and not come back. I demanded they refund or and provide me another replacement to which they declined and laughed. Horrible to say I have been buying from here for many years. I hope you have some shame to serve in this fraudulent manner!!
Green scrap potatoes sold as chips. No taste at all. Fish full of oil and chips as like left overs. Donner meat dry and hard. Waste of money. Not again
I wish i could give a minus they have no respect for womens. The guy near till with big long beard age 50 to 60 has no respect for customers. He passes sarcastic comments laughs on your face if you complain about any thing. So i went in today after a year as last time when i ordered chicken grill it had chicken feathers on it and they grilled it with them. I asked do you still do grilled chicken and he said yes. So i said i would like to place order. But please make sure to give me piece with no chicken hair on it, as last time i felt sick i couldn't eat it... and this is me humble talking no attitude. He just comes out sarcastically with God knows what running through his mind,so annoyed and making fun of me what i said and not accepting any of what i said. LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE . LACK OF RESPECT FOR WOMENS i wonder what he behave likes with his wife and family poor them Bare in mind this is jumma day and he is 50 to 60 year old!!!!! So when i seen his behaviour i said... ok i leave it then... he loudly comes out with BISMILLAH.... NOW I KNOW WHY THIS SHOP HAS NOT CUSTOMERS AND IS EMPTY MOSTLY. There was another guy with specials on he still tried and said yeah some times it happens etc, he wasnt bad... like he was ming of blending the situation But this beard guy has no shame, no respect and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE UNCLE WAKE UP.... CUSTOMER IS BUSSINESS!!!
Randomly walked into the store and decided to grab myself a Masala fish and chip butty, honestly the best I've had, the combination of the mint sauce with the fish soooo beautiful
Using some cheap alternative fish. I did give them a chance and tried calling them but they were adamant they were using Haddock and cut the phone off just bad service and now bad food. You can fool the general public not someone who was worked in Fish and Chippy for 15 years.. just tasted awful won't be ever coming back to this..
