Went to try out the new cafe. It was very nice. My husband had a cooked breakfast Good long serving time for breakfast so no rush for us!, I had the omelette which came with toast and chips and my son had a burger. Good friendly service and tasty food. Worth a visit!
Came here for lunch with my sister. It was awesome. The staff and the food were again, awesome. Child friendly, adult friendly. If I didn’t stay so far away I’d probably go for the carvery every week. Vegetarian options readily available without feeling like an inconvenience. That’ll suit the one in eight of us who don’t eat meat. Apparently the meat dishes were good too. That’ll suit the seven in eight. Peace
Excellent restaurant service. My wheel chair caused no problems, the proprietor wheeled me to the table and the staff opened doors when we left. Food and cooking just as good. First rate smoked duck starter and lovely see bass to follow. Highly recommended.
It's in a lovely location, not far from Pitmedden gardens. A nice selection of food on the menu. You must get the steak pie with puff pastry topping! It's very generous and delicious. Served with veg and baby potatoes. Quite reasonably priced too.
Into the restaurant on a Friday lunch time which was quiet. The service was attentive and the food a good standard. The surroundings are nice apart from the male toilet which is shared with the public bar and could be doing with renovation of some description. All in all a nice location for food.
Went to the Linsmohr Restaurant tonight with my wife and had a fantastic meal, the food was of a very high standard, as was the service, very pleasant and attentive lady serving us tonight, even the young lad working in the kitchen crept out for a sly drink of Coke, and had an infectious smile. We have been before and will return. New menu arriving soon. Again Good Quality local food, Well worth a visit. Allan @ Tillycorthie
We were made very welcome and our room was made available very early when we stayed to visit relatives. Room was lovely. Good tea and coffee supplies. Enjoyed our breakfasts - I recommend the scrambled eggs!
Had an unexpected and lovely visit here today. Great food, good prices and lovely friendly owners, scrumptious sticky toffee pudding especially. Thoroughly recommend a visit to this up and coming establishment. Thanks Linsmohr Hotel. Xx
First things first, if I could give 2.5 stars I would. I wasn't impressed but neither was I horrified. I was disappointed given how good the reviews are on here and on how nice the menu looks. In the flesh though, completely underwhelming. We were welcomed warmly which was nice and taken to our table straight away. The first waitress who spoke to us was lovely but then she seemed to vanish unfortunately. For starters, my friend had fried cheese of some sort which was small but tasty. My mum had pâté which was fine. I had the special which sounded gorgeous black pudding and chorizo salad but was just sort of ok. Bit tasteless, nothing to write home about. Not awful either it must be said. Then we were left staring at empty plates for 15 mins or so despite lots of chatty staff at the bar. Mains again had me excited cos I was having venison in bitter chocolate sauce and yet again it was just completely unremarkable. The meat wasn't badly cooked and there was plenty of it too but it just didn't really taste of much. The chocolate sauce didn't deliver either. Vaguely chocolately and not bitter at all. Tasted of sweet chocolate when eaten with veg which didn't work at all. And I had some strange potato-ey thing underneath that was rock hard and unappetising. Mum had the steak pie which looked awful when she opened the pastry really watery. She wasn't keen but I tried it and found it surprisingly good. Tender meat and good flavours. My friend had some veggie pastry affair which she wasnt forcing me to try which she would have been if it was good. Nice chips though. Onto pudding. Mum had the salted caramel tart which wasn't the least bit salty or caramely but was still very tasty gooey chocolate tart it should be called, both adjectives make for good puddings I say with good peanut brittle which she loves. My friend had sticky toffee pudding which did what it said on the tin and I had croissant and marmalade pudding that again was just completely average. They were all nicely presented with cream and ice cream and fruit which was a nice touch. After the bill was deliverered we were again left waiting for well over 20 mins despite the restaurant being empty and again lots of staff stood chatting at the bar a few feet away. My friend ended up calling over to ask for service and when it came there was no apology or smile etc. I then went to the gents which are completely vile. They are shared with a bar and judging by the drunk local who staggered in and stood next to me before hacking up something big and green into urinal and then using it for target practice, I'd guess it's not a very nice bar. And the toilets look perfect for not a very nice bar, rather than a nice restaurant. All in all it was a really frustrating experience. This place has real potential but they are going wrong somewhere. I hope they figure out where.
A lovely family meal, perfect for casual dining or for a special occassion. Cocktail menu available. Excellent menu, fantastic service. New owners are working hard to get the building up to standard. Would recommend.
