Brilliant tourist or local destination. Advise booking tickets online which you can also do on the day while you're there as queue for tickets can get quite long for the castle walls, prison and magna Carter. Nice little café on site, toilets just inside castle walls cathedral side. Amazing views from the castle walls, sensible shoes advised as plenty of steps and ladders/steep stairs within the castle walls if you choose to go down them! Staff very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of rooms to explore in the prison with some activities for children like dressing up, hand knitting and mosaic design etc. Castle grounds which are free to enter would make a lovely spot for a picnic.
First visit to the castle and grounds. Very interesting place to visit. The staff were very helpful and informative. I enjoyed walking around the castle walls and looking out over the views of Lincoln. The Victorian prison inside the walls gave an insight into a prisoner's life.
Extremely interesting although not quite what we were expecting in terms of a castle. But, lovey day there walking around the wall and exploring the castle prison
Great place to visit. Our guide on the walking tour was Daniel Phillips. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the castle and was a great communicator. The prison was well worth a visit. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Recommended definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful place to see. 6h was not enough time to enjoy the day at the castle. The prison have so much History to tell. The guide people were so friendly and happy to explain more of what happened last.nPlease go and pay a visit to this beautiful place.
