Lims used to be the best Chinese around, I'd always go there, the food used to be amazing when the previous owner was there, but since the new owner "ray" has taken over and wanting to save money, a lot of corners have been cut, nearly all the original chef's and staff have gone elsewhere as they wanted a pay rise and couldn't get it, and it's the same for the food, the quality has severely dropped, the beef is now discusting compared to before, the duck used to be a beautiful piece of breast on top, now it's odd gristly clumps that probably been rejected from else where, or I'm my opinion I'm not even sure if it is duck anymore, the chicken is still good tho but you can't go wrong with chicken 🐔 always a safe"ish" option There's probably been many other corners cut but these are the top most oblivious ones to me, Like nearly every other Chinese takeaway place they'v never had a high food hygiene rating, once upon a time they have managed to get as high as a 3 for hygiene rating which is what they STILL display behind the counter, this definitely hasn't been true for many many years, the actual rating is 1, and has been for a long while and not likely to change anytime soon, which is really not surprising if you could see behind the scenes, Anyone that likes spare ribs, there kept in a like open toped plastic sink bowl just outside of the toilet room door, Don't get me wrong tho, there are still some nice dishes there, but il only ever have chicken there tho

Always hit and miss with food sometimes it's lovely others times its not as good. Puts me off ordering again as happened too many times now

Not as good as it used to be but improving since the 1 star hygiene rating .... Still think their chicken curry is the best in Stoke !!!

UPDATE: Food has deteriorated rapidly since my last visit and the service has gone bad. Won't be using them again after the last visit. I asked for pineapple fritters and got banana ones which were oily and paid for prawn crackers that I never got. Called them and were rude when I whent back to collect them. Old: Decent food but could be vastly improved with more authentic cuisine like the restaurants in Chinatown, London. Sad to see that the y have a 2 star Food Hygiene Rating from the council as the food is decent but not the best. Prawn crackers as plentiful and fills you up! Well done Lims!
