I recently visited Lidl to purchase two bottles of alcohol. I am 25 years old, had valid ID with me, and was making the purchase for myself. However, because I was accompanied by my two younger sisters, aged 15 and 13, the staff refused to sell me the alcohol, citing “company policy.”nnThey even went so far as to ask me for ID for my sisters, which is both unreasonable and unnecessary given their obvious ages. It’s absurd to assume that I would be purchasing alcohol for underage individuals, let alone bring them into the shop with me if that were my intent. Would Lidl have challenged a 70 year old acting in the same way? According to their “company policy” the answer is yes, which is completely ridiculous.nnThis policy not only makes no sense but also treats responsible adults unfairly. I left the store feeling embarrassed and frustrated. I won’t be shopping here again if this is the kind of treatment customers can expect. Lidl needs to seriously reconsider its policies and train staff to exercise some basic common sense.
Visited Lidl in Ossett, West Yorkshire today. What a lovely experience. The shop smelled beautiful and fresh, the shelves throughout the store were fully stocked and presented really well and the staff were very kind and helpful. All in all it was a lovely experience and we will be shopping there on a regular basis.
Good value and a great selection of groceries.
To say this shop as been done why don't these places realise self serve would be better to make them all cash an card as stood 20 mins waiting for till as only 1 worked an was busy I only had 3 items ridiculous n
