Lidl
"Everyone knows we're Lidl on price. So, it's time to tell you what we're Big on. We're Big on Quality. Big on the big shop. Big on all the things that matter. Big on the things that make cupboards and bellies and life feel fuller. Big on detergent that gets your socks white and cheese that knocks them off. Big on carrots that crunch and chillies with bite. Big on cuisine from far and wide, and meat from local farmers. Big on brands and biscuits and baby stuff and bicycle pumps and butter. We're Big on everything. Except of course, on price, because that's where we'll always be Lidl."

I was shocked after seeing footage from a recent investigation taken from a Lidl supplier farm in Germany. I won’t be shopping somewhere with such appalling animal welfare. Lidl France have already pledged to stop the use of fast-growing chickens in their supply chain: why won’t Lidl GB do the same? Other supermarkets have signed up to the Better Chicken Commitment Act: therefore I will shop with those stores instead. A supermarket cannot be 'big on quality' if they fail to meet basic welfare standards for animals.
A decent sized shop with a good amount of parking. I was able to get what I needed with minimal hassle. The queue at the tills were long, but they quickly opened up more lanes to help with the volume of customers.
If I could give 0 stars I would! I am so shocked and appalled after seeing footage from a recent investigation of a Lidl supplier farm in Germany. I will certainly not be shopping here knowing they have such appalling animal welfare standards. I have seen products in my local with ‘EU Chicken’ on them so I can only assume it's coming from this farm! I will be shopping with supermarkets signed up to the Better Chicken Commitment. Big on Quality does not mean vile treatment towards animals!
Young man called ayan was extremely helpful and respectful. He helped my aged mother pack her shopping and also carried it out to the car for her. Amazing customer service even though the shop was super busy. We were very well looked after. The whole team is very welcoming and friendly, even though sometimes their facial expressions show they are under pressure. Never the less they always do their best to help. Car park is always busy and it can take forever to find parking but once inside the staff always try their best to help. Very good experiance and i always prefer it iver other super markets.
Just a rapid visit, but easily able to find most of what we needed for our kids Light Party, fresh fruit, sweets cakes and biscuits. Good prices too.
This is our goto local store. We like it for the Lidl brand and pricing. The car park is often very busy but we have never failed to get a spot.
A good decent sized store in the Chessington Area with a small car park. COmpared to the amount of Customers they have everyday they need to upsize or manage their parking area. Disable and Parent / Child Parking available. Like their products as well as their price. Store Staff and Management need good training in terms of Customer Service. Need to be a bit more polite. They need more staff at the tills during busy times.
Seems to be a very popular grocery store and car park may be full @ peek time after work. Good fresh groceries at reasonably placed prices as expected here. Friendly staff. Note: Reduced sale of water to 12 bottles, or 2 packs, per shopping trip. Not a problem really. Chicken pies were lush with a nice cold beer .
As a regular customer of Lidl I was shocked after seeing footage from a recent investigation taken from a Lidl supplier farm in Germany. You claim to be ‘big on quality’ however, this is simply not the case. In reality you are selling sick, injured, fast growing chickens that are reared in appalling conditions. This, to me, is the polar opposite of ‘big on quality. Also, I have done some research and can see that Lidl France have already pledged to stop the use of fast-growing chickens in their supply chain. This means that change is possible. So, my question to you, Lidl GB, is when will you commit to stop using fast growing chickens?
I won't be shopping at Lidl after seeing in a recent Times article how terribly the chickens they sell 'live' on its supply farms. They're bred to grow so fast that they often suffer deformities, can't move and just lay in their own waste getting chemical burns. As the fastest growing supermarket in the UK with huge profits, I am sure Lidl can do better for their customers and for the chickens. Until then, I won't be going there.
