Very disappointed to read Ian's piece in the West Somerset Free Press today, where he is rightly concerned about the increasing traffic congestion into West Somerset. Yet his only answer seems to be to build dual-carriageways and roads that will destroy the beauty that people come to see and bankrupt the county as well. Surely the answer is to get a proper train service running along the West Somerset Railway between Minehead and Taunton and take pressure off the roads. At present the railway is just used for steam-buffs to play trains on - lets get the County Council and Great Western Railway round the table and get a proper train service - it'll only cost a fraction of the cost of dual-carriageways and save West Somerset from being covered in Tarmac!
