Story

"There is no love sincerer than the love of food." (George Bernard Shaw)

Alan and Joanne worked in the Middle East for many years. Coming back home during holidays was always something they looked forward to, especially good old traditional Fish and Chips and a Full English Breakfast. But often, wherever they ate, there always seemed to be something missing.

On returning to the UK permanently, Alan and Joanne s passion for traditional food lead them to think further. The Great British Public deserved better!

What if there was a place that served wholesome Fish and Chips and English Breakfasts, freshly prepared by a Chef, in a modern welcoming environment that also catered for variety of other tastes too?

.... and with that, Leo s was born.

Leo s Fish Bar is a family run business with a passion for providing the best quality Feel Good Food Fish & Chips, Traditional English Breakfasts, Pies, Kebabs, Fried Chicken, and Burgers, to name just some of the dishes.

All recipes are prepared by Leo s very own Chef from the finest, freshest ingredients: Maris Piper potatoes, Fish from the North East Atlantic, Superior Burgers and 100% Chicken Breast Fillet Burgers. And everything is cleaned, cut, prepared and fried on the premises.

But apart from a great breakfast, lunch and dining experience, Leo s is happy to welcome ev eryone at all times of the day. Whether it s for rest and refreshment (we serve Illy s, the best Italian coffee available), a break away from the office (we have FREE on site Wi Fi), or afternoon tea and cakes we are here for you.

With our special Kids Menu, Leo s is also the perfect place for a cost effective family meal.

Did you know?

There is less fat and calories in the average portion of Fish & Chips than in an average Cheese & Tomato Pizza and Chicken Tikka Masala.
We have been a member of the national Institute of Fish Fryers since inception and recognise the importance of keeping up with the industry standards.

Best fish and chips I have been to so far to be honest. the fish was the best part, the batter was lovely crisp and thin, the pie on the other hand was just simple and dry. Chips had a layer of cheese not melted on top. I would of preferred a nicer cheese rather than the cheap baking flower style cheese. The hot wings were sold out so we took The king prawns which were delicious but only 3 out of 4 was served since none were left! Would of been nice to know before hand and we would chosen a different dish.
Had fish&chips, because it says it's the best one in Manchester. I sincerely hope, for Manchester's sake, that it isn't. It's not bad, but it's not great either. My fish had a bit of a flat taste, and the fries were a bit too greasy. It was just alright. Was missing some tartar sauce though. Having said that, I have to say that the people are nice, so that makes up for a lot!
The worst fish & chips I have ever had so far in the UK. I had cod, chips and mushy peas, the fish did not have much taste, the chips were soaky, the mushy peas tasted awful, I had to add salt in it in order to swallow , my son had haddock which was big in portion, the size of the haddock was the only thing that impressed me for this meal. Fish & Chips is always a British National food, I would not recommend any tourists to eat in this fish bar or it will totally ruin the National reputation of British fish & Chips, there are much more places in the UK which provide a better quality fish & chips.
so the highly ranked leos fish and chips bar where to begin! food ordered: haddock chips curry and tartar sauce on the whole the chips were superb however the same cannot be said about the fish on first tastes it tasted alot more like chicken than fish texturewise it was very chewy curry sauce was nothing special really and tartar sauce failed to live up to expectations. interior was splendidly worked and a friendly atmosphere allthough im guessing it can get crowded now comes the negatives upon ordering the meal i had to ask multiple times for both of the sauces which is a nuisance as i had to eat half of the dish without any sauce also unclean cutlery was noticed more notably the knife and forks i swapped them for a more clean looking pair so in summary leos fish bar you are not the best fish and chips in manchester i feel like this place could have lived up to the expecation and reputation this has been given im sad to give it 3 stars but it has quite frankly let me down greatly!
What a very good meal.i saw previous recommendations and finally tried the place.the meat and potato pie, chips and mushy peas were spot on and reasonably priced for the city centre.the place is clean and the staff are friendly with a fast service.located just off Piccadilly gardens so within walking distance of the shops and public transport.i plan to go back again.
There was a lot of battering over the fish and you can't feel the actual taste of it. Moreover the cheese over the fries was not melted and they just sprinkled over it. Very much Disappointed
Good food, nice seating area, good service, ok portion size but a little expensive
Was in at 11.15am. The waitress asked the cook where is my food as she can see I waited for a while. Waited til 11.45am when I had to go & got told the food is just ready. The toast was not even put into the toaster but I didn't have time left to wait for it. Someone I assumed is the boss was apologising for the wait because her staff members thought the delivery was more important than sorting the waiting customer's order. Leo's used to be good for their fish & chips but even that went fown the drain. Not going to waste my time or money there ever again.
Better and less expensive than most places around the city center. A good meal for two is around ~15 pounds.
I really enjoyed eating here while staying in Manchester m. The food was delicious, the staff were extra friendly, and the eating area was very well kept.
