Accessible by walking either from the town square area, past the church and across a road or take the windy road by the cemetary to a small car park. Pretty wooded and meadow parkland. Has a little stream probably bigger in Winter looking at the stream bed, reflecting pool, folly etc. Fairly steep slopes and muddy underfoot in some areas. It is accessed through gates. Popular with dog walkers on the day we visited. Views from top meadow are lovely.
At the beginning of the slopes leading up onto the hills. Beautiful and a nice contrast to the wide open spaces as you climb.
Nice woodland walk. Bit of a steep hill from the Church entrance but well worth the effort once at the top. The signs in the woods don't match the colour key on the board at the entrance so could be misleading and end up doing a different route to the one planned.
We walk down through Rectory woods, stunning & peaceful place, great history to them too, as the sign say's "strole in the footsteps of Georgian gentry". The scenery around pool & the ice house in the woods are lovely. The field has benches, ideal for picnics & kids to play. A really good place to visit in town. Highly recommended.
Great place for a walk grew up the area so as a child it was my playground1
Very short walk around but very scenic.
Stunning place, we accidentally ended up here after discovering carding mill valley was full and are so pleased we came! Its peaceful, beautiful and relaxing.
Lovely little wood to explore, great views from the hills, and field area for picnics and games.
It is believed the famous English landscape architect Lancelot "Capability" Brown's influence swayed heavily in the design layout of this delightful location. At just under twenty-five acres, it offers a family friendly two mile circular walk up hills and down descents through field and woods encountering a waterfall and lovely backdrop views of the Shropshire Hills. The recent excavation of an eighteenth century summerhouse and icehouse adds an interesting historical dimension to ones visit. Picnic benches on site for al fresco dining during suitably clement weather conditions.
Brilliant walk through wooded areas with ponds, streams and history.
